Steps To Make Cards With Patterned Paper
The first step is for you to decide on the patterned paper you want to use with your card. There are many gorgeous paper collections to choose from. And many within a collection itself.
Both Father's Day Cards
This is a very clean and simple card.
Make an A2 side folding gray or kraft card base. You can find instructions on how to make a card base HERE. We will use this card base in horizontal orientation so that the fold is at the top.
Trim the Purple/Blue piece from Paper Rose's Rainbow Wood Paper Collection to 5″ x 3 3/4″.
Attach the patterned paper centered on the card base using a Tape Runner .
Press a set of the Mother's & Father's Day Sentiments press plates on Porcelain BetterPress Cotton with black ink from the Regal Tones BetterPress Ink set.
Using the coordinating die from the BetterPress set, die-cut the sentiments and three more times from white cardstock.
Layer the three white die-cuts together with liquid glue. And then, attach the one with the sentiment on top.
Finally, fasten the sentiment on the card front in the lower third of the right side with liquid glue. I find it easier to get the sentiment straight using Reverse Tweezers.
Mother's Day Card with Black Frame
Make this card just the same as the first two cards, but add an Onyx frame in between the patterned paper and the card base. The color panel needs to be trimmed to 5 1/4″ x 4″. And, it can be attached using a Tape Runner.
Second of the Mother's Day Cards Made Using Patterned Paper
Again, you make this card just like the first two cards. Except for this one, we'll use a pretty die-cut from Vellum Layering Paper to draw your eyes to the sentiment. The die that I used on this card is one of my favorites, however, it was an exclusive one from Spellbinders from one of the cardmaking events that I attended. A good alternative to it would be their Postage Edge Oval dies.
