4 beautiful Christmas cards created with Spellbinders Stitching Die of the Month.

You can make 4 stunning stitched cards using the same materials as you do for 1! Keep reading to learn how.

I'm using the October 2023 Stitching Die of the Month from Spellbinders to make four beautiful Christmas cards. And, what is amazing is that you can create 4 cards with the cardstock that you cut for 1! I'm going with variations of teal for my card today with accents of white and silver.

The steps are exactly the same for all four cards. The only thing that is different is the color of cardstock to use for the background, ornaments, and tree.

Die-cutting

To begin, we'll use the big cover plate four times to cut from white, light teal, medium teal, and dark teal cardstock. Following that, we'll die-cut four trees: one white and three from the darkest teal cardstock. We'll also want to die-cut four sets of ornament toppers from brushed silver cardstock. And, four sentiments from silver mirror cardstock.

Stitching On 4 Stunning Stitched Cards

Next, we'll do all of the stitching. We're using a single strand of metallic silver thread with a number 24 tapestry needle. HINT: Only use about 24″ long strands to stitch with. This weill keep the thread from knotting. Beginning on the back side of any to the pieces to be stitched, draw the threaded needle up from the back to the front. Pull it through all but about a half inch. Add a dab of liquid glue behind it and fastne the end to the die-cut. HINT: You may have to hold the thread to the die-cut for a minute for the glue to set.

The next step is to point the needle down through the next hole. Spellbinders does a fantastic job of creating stitching pieces that are easy to figure out where the thread needs to be. Now, stitch all four of the christmas tress and four ornaments for each of the four cards. Fasten the end of the thread to the die-cut when you run out of thread or finish the stitching for a die-cut.

Assembly

Believe it or not, all that is left is to assemble the cards. To do so, you'll want to trim double-sided adhesive to 4″ x 5 1/4″ four times. And then, attach one to the back of each of the four die-cut backgrounds. Now you can attach them to A2 (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2′”) card bases.

Afterward, we'll use reverse tweezers to set each of the ornaments into their respective voids on the card fronts. HINT: It is helpful to lay out the ornaments on each of the cards to ensure that you have an even distribution of colors on each.

As you do so, It's a good idea to add a little bit of liquid glue to the voids for the ornaments that have been stitched as the thread holds them up. Following that, we'll fasten each ornament onto the card front. We'll also use the tweezers to position the ornament hangers on top of the ornaments with liquid glue.

Lastly, we'll pop up the trees and the sentiments with foam tape.
