How To Make An Elegant Magic Iris Card -22

The card for Day 22 of the Twenty-five Days of Christmas Cards is an elegant magic iris card.

What is an elegant Magic Iris card? Read this article to learn all about them and how to make this elegant Christmas card.

A magic iris card is an interactive card that opens a window when you pull a lever. Although it looks complex, it’s quite easy to make. And, the results are spectacular!

To begin the card we’re going to trim a piece of mirror cardstock to A2 size (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) and then attach it to a white A2 card base. And then, we’re going to refer to the following video from @LawnFawn which does an excellent job of describing how to assemble the Magic Iris.

We use mirror cardstock to cut out the three “sausage” pieces so that they match the card front. Following that, we’ll stamp our sentiment centered on one of the white stitched circles that results from cutting out the rings. And, we’re doing so with green ink. Finally, we’ll use the fine tip on our red marker to add a little color to the berries.

Once we’ve fastened our magic iris mechanism centered on top of the mirror cardstock card panel, then we can pop the sentiment into the center using liquid glue.

Next, we’ll cut a number of holly berries from red scrap cardstock. Following that, we’ll cut holly leaves from two or three different shades of green. Finally, we’ll glue the die-cut holly pieces randomly to the top “ring” of the magic iris to create a wreath.
