Are you ready for the August Stitching Die Of the Month from Spellbinders? It’s here and it is really something! I love it!
I create two cards with this kit and get completely different results.
August Stitching Die Of The Month – Pastel
We’ll start with the simpler of the two cards. This is a lovely card that you can use for anything. It would be perfect as a wedding or anniversary card but would work just as well as just a note to say hi.
The background cover die provides a beautiful design, so it’s important to pick something that will go behind it that will coordinate well with what you’re using on top. When I’m using pastes I always smear anything that is left over onto A2 (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) size pieces of cardstock rather than wasting it. And then I store them for use at a later time. I use one of these panels that I have smeared with pearl paste.
We’ll attach the panel to a white A2 card base with a tape runner.
Next, we’ll cut the cover die from pale blue cardstock. While we have the die-cutting machine out, we’ll cut all of the remaining die pieces from light peach cardstock. And, we’ll cut two more of the tiny flowers and four more of the leaves. And then, we’ll fasten the blue panel on top of the pasted panel with a tape runner. Finally, we’ll fasten all of the die-cut pieces to the blue panel with liquid glue.
To finish the card, we’ll add some pearl drops and set the card aside to dry.
August Stitching Die Of The Month – Bright
We’ll create this card following basically the same steps that we use for the first card. But there are just a couple of things that we do differently. We’ll blend to create beautiful vibrant colors for our die-cut pieces. And, we’ll stack up the sentiment and pop up the floral pieces for dimension. Oh, and we add gems for some bling!
