It’s hard to come up with card ideas for men. In this article I’m going to help you by showing how to make this unique handmade card for men.
How to Make this Masculine DIY Greeting Card
This card is inspired by Andy Warhol’s art and is a fun way to change up a card for that special guy in your life. Altenew’s class, For The Guys, one of the classes I’m taking for the Altenew Educator Certification Program really helped to get my mojo going for creating cards for guys. Keep an eye out for a new post coming soon entitled How to Rock Five Cardmaking Ideas for Men where I share other cards that I created while taking this class.
To create this quick and simple handmade card for men I begin by stamping the boots images four times onto watercolor paper using black waterproof ink.
Next, I color each of the boot sets with a different color using watercolor brushes. Then I select coordinating cardstock to be used behind the boots. I leave the soles white and as well as a quarter-inch white border around the card. By doing so I use the color white to help make the colors pop. Once the boots are colored in and the paint is dry I fussy cut them out. Just in case you’re interested though there is a coordinating die for the boots.
You want to make sure that you don’t leave any space between the different colors of cardstock. A way that you can do this is by using scotch tape on the backside to hold the blocks of color together before attaching them to the card base. I follow this procedure after which I glue the boot images in the center of each color block.
After all the work with the background colors and the images, I finish off the card by stamping a simple sentiment onto a scrap of white cardstock and add it to the card with foam tape.
Now you know who to make a beautiful and easy handmade card for men.
