I am sharing a cute turtle card that I made with Days 6 of Spellbinders Crafty Advent Calendar in this article.
This is a die set that includes a darling turtle, a balloon, and a cute little party hat.
STEPS TO CREATE THE TURTLE CARD
- Blend green ink onto one-third of an A2 card panel vertically
- Blend blue ink over the rest of the card panel.
- Trim blended card panel with a notched corner rectangle die
- Die-cut turtle from three shades of green
- Die-cut party hat from red and silver glitter cardstocks
- Die-cut Balloon from red, yellow, and blue cardstock
- Die-cut balloon strings from brushed silver cardstock
- Cut a little scrap of black cardstock to put behind the hole for the turtle’s eye. Attach with liquid glue
- Cut three little scraps of white cardstock to put behind each of the balloons. Attach with liquid glue
- Assemble the turtle, hat, and balloons with liquid glue
- Trim a piece of colored patterned paper to A2 size (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) and fasten it to a white A2 card base with a tape runner.
- Add foam squares to the back of the blended card panel and attach centered over the patterned paper.
- Add foam squares to the back of the turtle, his hat, and the 3 balloons. Then fasten them to the cardfront. And, it helps to fasten down the ends of the balloon strings with liquid glue
- Heat emboss “happy birthday” on a scrap of vellum with silver embossing powder
- Hand-cut a bubble around the sentiment and attach it to the card (do not use foam squares as I did).
