Hi, friends! Altenew Certified Educators are joining a fun Instagram Reel Hop, and the theme is Snowflakes & Sparkle.
You can find the hop details below, but let's take a look at the card that I made for the hop first.
I want to share a technique that I created for this card with you. We're going to heat emboss an embossed design.
To begin, we'll brush a light blue piece of cardstock with anti-static powder. Next, we'll apply watermark ink on the raised side of the inside of a snowflake embossing folder. Then, place the cardstock inside the embossing folder and run it through your die-cutting and embossing machine using the manufacturer's recommended sandwich.
Carefully remove the cardstock and pour sparkly silver embossing powder over the design. Pour it off and heat it until it is melted with a heat tool. The embossing powder sticks to the cardstock in the design created by the ink on the embossing folder. This results in a beautiful sparkly snowflake design.
A simple sentiment die-cut from brushed silver cardstock provides the perfect finishing touch to this clean and simple card. All that is left is to assemble the card. It's simple. Trim the embossed panel to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and center it on a white A2 size (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) card base, attaching it with double-sided adhesive. And lastly, use liquid glue to fasten the sentiment down.
