Love is the theme for the newest Stitching Die, Stencil, and Clear Stamp and Die monthly kits from Spellbinders.
Brand New Stencil Club – My Love Grows Card
I am super excited to share that Spellbinders has a brand new monthly club, the Stencil of the Month. And, this card features the very first stencil, My Love Grows.
It is fun to use Distress Oxides on darker cardstock because it makes the color pop. And then, layer up white die-cut sentiments to make your them draw your eye to them. Following that, I use the shadow die from the monthly Clear Stamp and Die set, Big Love, for this card.
You can find all the supplies to make this card below in the supplies section for the Clear Stamp and Die card.
Big Love Card
For me, the main feature of the Clear Stamp and Die set this month is the Big Love die alone. However, the set comes with a stamp that fits beautifully within it too. This card features just the die and some cute heart stamps. And, a dainty sentiment stamp as well.
Watercoloring with the same distress inks we use for the first card creates the background for this one. Just dilute it and squiggle it on your cardstock. Let it dry and then cut it out with the die from the December Stitching Die of the Month kit.
Bright pink embossing powder sets off the cute hearts from the set to add detail to the card. And, while you have your heat embossing equipment out go ahead and stamp and heat emboss “My heart is yours” with silver embossing powder.
Assembly
Blend light pink around the edges of the front of an A2 (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) card base. And then, fasten the watercolored background to it with liquid glue. If you haven’t already done so, die-cut two of the big love shadow from dark teal cardstock. And two from bright pink and then layer them together with the pink on the bottom.
Use liquid glue to center “love” on your card front and then add the sentiment strip on top.
Stitched Love Card
This one might be my favorite. The Stitched Love die cuts are so cute and the stitching adds to the design. You can arrange it any way you like, I chose to go with kind of a Nordic design.
And, I’m going to share how to make this pretty background if you want to make a similar card. Believe it or not, to create it you’re going to use the same technique as the one to watercolor for the Big Love card. The only difference is that you’re going to watercolor on glitter foam instead of cardstock.
