How To Make Christmas Tree Card – Day 2

Christmas Tree Card created by using layered stencils.

A gorgeous trimmed Christmas Tree is the focal point for the card for Day 2. Read on to learn how to make this beauty.

A beautifully Christmas Tree is the focal point for this lovely card colored with alcohol markers and layered stencils.

This card is similar to one from last year. But, I just can’t resist a beautiful Christmas tree on a deep blue background.

To begin making the card, we’ll trim the colored cardstock to A2 size (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) and attach it to our white A2 card base with a glue runner.

Coloring the Christmas Tree Card

Now, we’ll stamp the first layer of the tree onto white cardstock using the darker green ink. We do this because the color of this ink is perfect to create the outlines and shadows of the tree.

Next, we’ll use the coordinating layered stencil set to color the tree. And, we’ll use that darkest green ink again with the first stencil layer. And then, we’ll use the lighter green for the second layer to finish the tree itself. But, we’re not done yet. Following that the third layer is the tinsel and we’re going to use beautiful blue ink for it. And finally, the last layer is the ornaments and the star. We’re making them bright red. And of course, the star is yellow.

Once the stenciling is done we’ll heat emboss the rest of the details with gold embossing powder. And then we’ll color them with alcohol markers.

Assembly

Assembly is quick and easy. We’ll attach the tree skirt and the large star directly to the card front with liquid glue. We’re going to pop up the Christmas Tree with a piece of double-sided adhesive foam sheet cut just slightly smaller than the tree.

Although I didn’t do so for the card in the photo, I think we should pop up the ornaments for the tree too to give them some dimension.

And that’s it for Christmas Card Day 2.
