Harvest Flourish Foil Thanksgiving Cards!

What’s harvest flourish foil? You can use Poly-Glaze Foiling Sheets and the Harvest Flourish stencil to make gorgeous Thanksgiving cards.

I’m taking a break from Christmas cards to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving a little early. And to share these beautiful cards that you can still make.

These cards feature Grungy Leaves Poly-Glaze Foiling Sheets, the Harvest Flourish Stencil, and my new fav too, the Fuse Foiling System from Gina K Designs.

Foiled Leaves and Faux Wood

To create the first card, you’re going to ink the background first using Gina’s faux wood technique. To do so, you just apply a medium brown ink pad directly onto a Grungy Leaves Poly-Glaze Foiling Sheet. All you do is swipe it across the panel several times until it looks the way you want it to. Following that, we’ll blend a little more of the brown ink to make it look a little more like wood. I also recommend blending around the edges.

Now, you need to trim a piece of sparkly orange foil to be slightly larger than the foiling sheet. Put it in a carrier sheet and run it through your foiling machine. Then, pull off the foil carrier sheet to reveal the beautiful sparkly leaves.

You can add a little more color by blending red, green, yellow, and orange over the leaves if you want.

To create the sentiment, stamp Happy Thanksgiving onto a 3/4″ x 5 1/2″ strip of white cardstock with your green ink. Fasten it to a 1 ” x 5 1/2″ strip of orange cardstock with a tape runner. And then fasten it to the card front.

Finally, attach the card panel to an A2 card base with your tape runner and that’s it, you’re done. All of the supplies you need can be found in the Supplies List at the end of this article.

The process for our second project is very similar to the first. The only difference is that we use a pretty floral stencil and green ink to create the background.

Using Negative From Harvest Flourish Foil

Our third card uses the foil negative left over from our second card.

I’m embarrassed to admit that I had toner sheets in my stash, but I didn’t know what to use them for. That is until it was bothering me that I had all this beautiful foil left over from the second card and I did an online search to find out how to use it.

All you do is trim your toner sheet to the size you need. Then you put it in your carrier sheet, lay the negative over the top, and run it through your foiling machine. And, you end up with a gorgeous sparkly card panel with black leaves. Isn’t it pretty?

Center the panel over an A2 piece of black cardstock and fasten it to an A2 card base with a tape runner. Next, heat emboss your sentiment with black embossing powder on white cardstock. Follow that by die-cutting it with the coordinating die. And then, die-cut a couple more of the shadows from black cardstock and layer them to give the sentiment some dimension. Finally, you will attach the sentiment to the card front with liquid glue and that is it.
