Step-by-Step Instructions to make the Celebrate Card

Handmade greeting card with letterpress floral Celebrate as the focal point made with the Celebration Flowers registration plate from the new Spellbinders release.

Step 1: Blend the Edges

Begin by blending around the edges of your A2 porcelain card panel with medium teal ink. This adds a lovely, subtle border to your card.

Step 2: Center the Card Panel

Next, tape the card panel centered on the plastic Betterpress top. Ensure it is securely in place to avoid any movement during the next steps.

Step 3: Set Up the Registration Template

Tape the registration template to the magnetic insert on the chase. This will help you line up your plates accurately.

Step 4: Position the Celebrate Plate

Line up the “Celebrate” plate to the template, ensuring it’s perfectly aligned.

Step 5: Ink the Celebrate Plate

Ink up the plate with medium pink ink. Make sure the ink is evenly distributed for a clean impression.

Step 6: Run Through Die Cutting Machine

Run the chase through your die cutting machine. Once done, carefully remove the plate from the template.

Step 7: Position the Floral Plate

Line up the floral plate to the template. Attention to detail here ensures a stunning final product.

Step 8: Ink the Floral Plate

Ink the floral plate with dark teal ink. This will add a beautiful contrast to your card.

Step 9: Remove the Panel

Remove the panel from the Betterpress top, taking care not to smudge the ink.

Step 10: Paint the Flowers and Leaves

Smoosh light pink ink on your work surface, then pick it up with a wet watercolor brush marker. Paint the little flowers with light pink ink, followed by painting the leaves with medium teal ink.

Step 11: Die-Cut the Panel

Die-cut the panel using a small scalloped rectangle die for an elegant finish.

Step 12: Trim the Color Panel

Trim the color panel to 3 5/8″ x 4 7/8″. This will create a nice layered effect when assembled.

Step 13: Attach the Color Panel

Using a tape runner, attach the color panel centered on a white A2 card base. Ensure it is firmly in place.

Step 14: Attach the Pressed Panel

Finally, attach the pressed panel centered on the color panel with a tape runner.
