It is easy to get carried away with the products from these kits. I've got lots to share with you for this month so let's get going.
BetterPress Monthly Club
I have to admit, I am absolutely in love with anything BetterPress. And, the September Monthly Press Plate , Corner Sunflowers does not disappoint! I do some experimenting with watercolor brush markers on my card. My plan was to create a kind of pastel ethereal ambiance.
The technique I use is to do a wash of clear water on the cardstock and then drop the paint onto it and let it bloom. I expect to create a kind of pastel ethereal ambiance. However, it results in much brighter colors that are really quite beautiful. This could be due to the BetterPress Porcelain cardstock that I am using for my card panel.
I then use my BetterPress system to press the beautiful image from the monthly kit over the top of the background. At this point, it is very dark. Therefore, I lift some of the background colors off of the flowers and leaves by adding water and then rubbing it with a paper towel. Following that, I added color to detail each of the floral images.
Consequently, I ended up with a bright and beautiful card. And, I think the cardstock handles the watercoloring wonderfully, so in my view, the experiment is a success.

Cute Halloween Card
The first project that I have to share with you has a Halloween theme. I use spooky colors and all these cute little images to create a cute little nighttime Halloween scene. When creating a card like this, I find it helpful to die-cut and assemble a bunch of the images in the set. And then, I arrange them to get a feel for what it will look like. Finally, I decide on the background that I want the card to have.
Pretty Fall Card From Sept Monthly Club
To make my second card you only need three of the dies: the two leaf dies and the sentiment from the large die club kit for September 2023. However, you can make it look like you have a ton of different leaves by using multiple colors of cardstock and adding some dimension to some of them when you attach them to the card front.
Additionally, I create a pretty background that accentuates the leaves. To demonstrate, I use the direct ink-to-paper technique in both directions on the card panel with inks in fall colors. And then, I trim it with a deckle trimmer to give the panel an uneven edge.
Colorful Birthday Cards
My third and fourth cards using the large die club kit for September 2023 are completely different from the first two. I create one that is feminine and the other that you can give to either girls or boys. I use the same basic supplies for each. But, to differentiate between the two I change the colors that I use. Furthermore, I'll use glitter on the icing and a lacy oval on the feminine card. Then, use the negative space from the oval die cut to frame the masculine card.
Clear Stamp and Die Sept Monthly Club
September's Clear Stamp and Die set, Fall Thankfulness, is a twofer. There are two darling stamps with sentiments that can be used for Halloween, Fall, or Thanksgiving.
And, I use them to make two darling cards with them. I start with blending Distress Oxide fall colors randomly onto two white A2 (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) size card panels. And then, I will emboss them with the Scattered Fall Embossing Folder. We do this because it adds a little bit of interest and dimension to the cards.
Finally, we'll take advantage of the Oxide ink's properties and splatter some water over the top of each card panel. And then, after it's sat for a minute or so we'll rub a paper towel over the top of it to pick up some of the color.
Next, I watercolor the stamped images using the same inks that I use for the background. I'll die-cut each of the sentiments that I've stamped. Also, I'll die-cut each of the images plus two more from white cardstock.

Stitching Die of the Month
You can create your own enchanted forest with the September Stitching Die of the Month, Enchanted Stitched Mushrooms. To do so, you need to start with a fun background. When I watercolor with ink pads I can't bear to waste any of the ink that is left over on my palette (work mat). Therefore, I spray them with water and press a piece of cardstock or watercolor cardstock over the top. And then, I press it with my fingertips to soak up the ink. As a result, you get a flowy mix of colors like the one I use for this card.
Additionally, if a forest is to be enchanted then there needs to be some sort of sparkle. Metallic thread adds the perfect amount of sparkle and shine to the tops of the mushrooms. So fun!
