Advent Calendar Day 1 is finally here. And I am so excited to tell you all about it and share the project that I created with it.
What am I talking about? Well, Spellbinders creates a wonderful advent calendar specially curated for card makers. It’s packed full of dies, stamps, stencils, embossing folders, and embellishments that you’ll love crafting with all year long.
The advent calendar has been sold out for a very long time. So you can’t get one this year, but I’m hoping that this, and all the articles that I’ll be posting for the next twenty-three days will give you an idea of whether it’s right for you. And, maybe you’ll pick up some ideas for cards and gift tags along the way.
Day 1 is a darling car die set. And, it includes a gift box with a top and bow. However, I used them to make my car a woodie. This set is the perfect size to use on a gift card. But, it’s large enough to make a very cute card too. And, you can make the car to celebrate any occasion.
To make this tag, die-cut all the pieces in the die set using cardstock from your scrap stash. However, if you want to make your card just like mine you can use the colors I have listed in the Supplies List. And, don’t forget to die-cut two of the tires and the hub caps. And use a heavy-weight white cardstock to die-cut the tag from.
Assembly
Next, assemble your little car using liquid glue. This is where you can use your creativity to make the car yours.
Then, trim your color accent 1/8″ smaller than the tag on all four sides. And, trim the background panel 1/8″ smaller than the color accent on all sides. Use a tape runner to fasten the color accent and the background panels to the tag and then attach the car with liquid glue.
Isn’t that fun?
I created a fun little reel while making my card. I hope that you enjoy it.
