My A Leafy Affair Card

Fun card created for the Altenew Educators' Instagram Reel Hop, A Leafy Affair. The background is created using just one stamp with many cool colors of ink.

My project for the hop is a great one to make for any occasion. And, It is quick and easy to make. As a result, this one took under fifteen minutes from start to finish. It took more time to pick out a stamp to use than it did to make the card.

I use just one stamp from Altenew’s Wildflower Doodle’s Stamp set for the background. And then, I use all the green and teal Fresh Dye Inks. HINT: The Fresh Dye Inks are wonderful! I love using them for just about everything. So, I just stamp each one of my colors onto an A2 card panel (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) in random order. And, make sure that I turn the stamp in a different direction each time to keep it interesting.

Here is a link to my reel so you can see my technique:

The stamp set and inks that I use work really well. But, this is a great card to make with what you might already have. Just think, you might just find the perfect stamp in your crafty stash, I’m just saying…

Bonus Card

A black card adorned with colorful floral designs and leafy accents surrounds the text "birthday wishes," penned in cursive on a white oval center—perfect for a celebratory Leafy Affair.

This is another card that you can make with the same stamp set. You just heat emboss all of the images on different colors of cardstock with white embossing powder. And then, you cut them out with the coordinating die set.

I use a number of bright choices from Altenew’s Gradient Cardstock sets. But, this is a great card to use up your scrap cardstock.

The colors I use for my card are:

  • Crimson from the Red Sunset Gradient Cardstock set
  • Crimson from the Red Sunset Gradient Cardstock Set
  • Razzleberry from the Cherry Blossom Gradient Cardstock Set
  • Warm Sunshine from the Summer Afternoon Gradient Cardstock Set
  • Caramel Toffee from the Summer Afternoon Gradient Cardstock Set
  • Just Green from the Green Meadows Gradient Cardstock Set
  • Lagoon from the Sea Shore Gradient Cardstock Set
  • Ultraviolet from the New Purple Gradient Cardstock Set
