Little Log Cabin in the Woods Camping Card

This card brings the coziness of a woodland retreat right to your craft table. Using the Into the Wild Clear Stamp Set, you’ll build a rich, layered outdoor scene complete with trees, foliage, rocks, and a charming cabin nestled among the pines.

Start by stamping the images that are in front of other images we’ll be stamping first. For example, add the cabin as your focal point, positioning it slightly off-center for a more dynamic composition. And the fluffy tree to the left of it too. Be sure to use ink that won’t bleed and stamp the same images on masking paper. Cut out the masks and place them over the images that you just stamped.

Now, add in your foreground background elements—trees, ground textures, and foliage—working from the back of the scene to the front to create a sense of depth. Be sure to use the masking technique if you need to. Use alcohol marker blending to create a soft sky behind the scene, then color your stamped images to bring everything to life.

Finish with a fun sentiment from the Words for the Wild Clear Stamp Set—phrases like “Off to Great Places”, “Happy Trails” or “Let’s Get Lost” pair beautifully with this woodland aesthetic. Add a few detail elements like rocks or tiny bushes and trail elements with a thin marker to round out the scene.

For this design, let the sentiment do the heavy lifting. Stamp it large and bold on your card front. Create a focal point by creating a fellow sitting on a stump enjoying the outdoors. How to Make the Let’s Get Lost Camping Card

This card celebrates the spirit of nature, and it’s built around three of the beautiful and expressive wildlife figures from the Wild Friends stamp set. The stamps feature sitting and standing poses; you can arrange them to make them look like they would be naturally in the wilderness.

If you’re making a card just like this one, you’ll be using the deer, butterfly, sitting bunny, and the squirrel. Stamp them onto a white card panel, then also stamp them onto masking paper. Then color with alcohol markers to add personality and depth. Layer a scenic background behind him using the Into the Wild set, and stamp the “Let’s Get Lost” sentiment from the Words for the Wild set on the inside for a surprise greeting.

Happy Trails Camping Card

“Happy Trails” is one of those sentiments that feels warm, nostalgic, and full of possibility. For this card, combine the scenic storytelling of the Into the Wild Clear Stamp Set (STP-287) with the character-building power of the Can’t Stand Still – Men set (JGS0018) to create a card that truly tells a story.

Mix and match the figure elements to create a couple of hikers mid-stride—coffee in hand and boots ready. Stamp them onto your card front, or a separate piece of white cardstock, then color with alcohol markers to add personality and depth.

Build a layered trail scene across the card front—trees receding into the distance, a path winding through them, and rocks and foliage framing the edges. Place your stamped male figures at the beginning of the trail, as if he’s just set off on a new adventure.

For a polished finish, use a fine-tipped marker to add detail lines around your stamped images, and consider embossing the sentiment in gold or white for an elegant touch.

For added dimension, stamp and color your guys on a separate piece of white cardstock, then fussy-cut them out. Then, fussy-cut the sloped land in the lower right-hand corner as well, and pop them up with varying thicknesses of foam adhesive.

Stamp the “Happy Trails” sentiment from the Words for the Wild set on the inside to keep it from covering up your beautiful scene.

How to Make the Not So Camping Thank You Card

Have you ever wanted to make a card that sort of looks like you? Or, maybe someone you know? This bonus card celebrates that with a smile. The Illustrated Lady Clear Stamp Set (STP-283) and Illustrated Man Clear Stamp Set (STP-284) are both modular sets featuring interchangeable faces, hairstyles, clothing, and accessories, making it easy to create characters who look however you want them to in style.

Think glamping vibes: your illustrated characters dressed in chic outdoor wear, maybe sipping from a mug with a perfectly styled backdrop. Or, you can dress them up or down depending on the look you want them to have. For this card, I made it look like my husband and I were wearing clothes that we wore to a special event on our latest camping trip.

You can also use the scenic elements from the Into the Wild set to create a beautiful scene, or just keep it simple like I did. Then swap the rugged trail sentiments in the collection for a simple “Thank You” or “Heartfelt Thanks” (from your stash) stamped with elegant lettering.

This card is a wonderful way to show appreciation with a little humor—and it proves that the Storybook Illustrations collection is as versatile as it is beautiful.
