Delivering Joy Through Cardmaking!

Handmade adorable card featuring a vintage-style map of the Hundred Acre Wood with cutouts of Winnie the Pooh holding Piglet and a pink banner reading, "a day trip, so small, and touched by magic." Perfect for cute baby card ideas.

There is something timeless about Winnie the Pooh. For generations, the gentle bear and his friends from the Hundred Acre Wood have been symbols of comfort, friendship, and the innocent joy of childhood. Now, you can bring that same warmth to your craft room.  I am thrilled to introduce the Say Cheese Classic Pooh Baby Collection from Spellbinders. This collaboration with Simple Stories captures the soft, nostalgic essence of A.A. Milne’s classic characters. Whether you are celebrating a new arrival, a first birthday, or simply sending a note of encouragement, this collection offers the perfect blend of vintage charm and modern crafting ease.

In this post, we’re going to explore three distinct baby cards created using the new stamps, dies, and BetterPress plates from this collection. Grab your die-cutting machine and let’s take a walk through the Hundred Acre Wood!

The Little Bundle of Joy Baby Card

A greeting card with a pink floral border reads “IT’S A GIRL!” and “sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart,” featuring a girl, a crib, and a cat illustration.

For our first project, we are focusing on the Bundle of Joy Stamp & Die Bundle. This set is perfect for creating a focal point that feels hand-illustrated but comes together in minutes.

Step 1: Create the Background

Start by cutting a piece of white cardstock to A2 size (4.25″ x 5.5″). To give our background some texture without overwhelming the main image, we’ll use the Cross My Heart 3D Embossing Folder.
Mist your cardstock lightly with water before running it through your die-cutting machine. This helps the paper stretch into the deep grooves of the 3D folder without cracking, resulting in a crisp, clean impression of that adorable heart lattice.

Use the Scallop and Stitched Ovals Dies to die-cut a pretty scalloped oval from pink patterned paper in your stash. Die-cut the stitched oval, one size smaller, from vellum.

Step 2: Stamp and Color

Next, take the main image from the Bundle of Joy Clear Stamp Set—the one featuring Pooh and Christopher Robin looking in the baby crib. Stamp this in a Copic-friendly black ink. Also stamp the large Pooh holding the rattle.
When coloring Classic Pooh, aim for soft, desaturated tones. Use pale yellows for Pooh (think honey, not sunshine), Christopher Robin’s usual red, and soft pinks for the crib. A touch of light green grass around the characters helps ground them. Once colored, use the coordinating dies to cut them out.

Stamp the larger heart from the set using hot pink ink and then cut it out with the coordinating die.

Step 3: Assemble the Elements

Select a sentiment from the stamp set, like “sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart”, and “It’s a Girl!” from the Hello Baby Stamp and Die Bundle. Arrange all the elements on your card front, making sure that you have room for your sentiments.

Once you decide where everything is going to be, you can go ahead and heat emboss the sentiment in black on the vellum oval. Fasten the vellum oval centered on the scalloped oval using Pixie dots behind the sentiments. Then, pop it up centered on your embossed background panel with foam tape. Mount the panel onto a white top-folding card base.
Finally, pop your colored image up with foam tape to finish off the card.

A color swatch card labeled "Little Bundle" shows vertical color strips with handwritten codes and numbers beside each, ranging from pinks and oranges to yellows and greens.

The Love You Forever Baby Card

A card decorated with pastel-colored baby footprints and hearts, featuring the text "I will love you FOREVER" and two ribbon accents at the bottom right.

This next card leans into the elegance of hand stamping. We will be using the Bundle of Joy and Hello Baby Stamp sets along with the Ribbon and Trim Etched Dies.

Step 1: Create Your Background

Using the baby feet and the little heart stamps from the Bundle of Joy stamp set, create a pattern on white cardstock using pastel pink, yellow, green, blue, and violet inks.

Step 2: Die-Cut the Ribbons

Now for the fun part! The Ribbon and Trim Etched Dies include five different decorative edged designs to choose from. Select the ones that you want to use and die-cut them from pastel cardstock scraps—fairy tale, alabaster, and white work perfectly with this baby vibe. For the little white bow, try using the slim stitched die. Layer three of the three pastel strips to create a lovely ribbon. Assemble tiny pieces of the white stitched strip with liquid glue to create the bow.

Step 3: Assemble the Card

Fasten the patterned paper panel to a white card base. Decide where the ribbon assembly will be on the card front. Select a sentiment such as “i will love you forever” from the Hello Baby Stamp set. Stamp it in black ink above where the ribbon will go.

Attach the ribbon assembly in the lower third of the card with liquid glue. And finally, adhere the bow at an angle directly over the ribbon, and you have a sophisticated card that’s perfect for a baby shower gift.

The Hundred Acres Baby Card

A vintage-style map background with a stork carrying a baby bundle and a cartoon bear holding onto the bundle. A pink banner reads, "so tiny, so small and loved by all.

Our final project uses The Hundred Acre Wood Press + Foil Plate. This large plate creates a stunning map background that does most of the heavy lifting for you.

Step 1: Foil or Press the Background

This plate is versatile! You can use it with the Glimmer Hot Foil System for a shiny, metallic look, or with the BetterPress System for a letterpress look.
For this card, let’s go with the letterpress look. Use brown ink on cream cardstock. After pressing the map images, randomly blend around the edges and over the design elements with brown ink. Repeat with old paper ink. Trim the panel down slightly with a deckle trimmer so it’s smaller than your card base (4″ x 5.25″). Now, scrunch the panel into a loose ball, resulting in a crumpled map. Run the side of a dark brown marker around the edges of the map. The distressed finish complements the vintage style of the illustrations.

Step 2: Add Characters & Sentiment

We need a friend for this map! Stamp the stork and Pooh, the “so tiny, so small and loved by all!” sentiment, and the banner around it with the Hello Baby Stamp set. Color the stamped elements with alcohol markers. Use the coordinating dies to die-cut the colored images.

Step 3: Assemble the Card

Adhere a color panel in a coordinating color to a white cardstock base. Add Pixie dots to the back of the map background at the lowest spots on the panel and fasten slightly ajar on the card base. The distressed finish and the location of the map leave the impression that the map has been dropped onto the card front.
Pop up the sentiment banner and fasten it in the lower left corner. And then, place the stork and Pooh in the top right corner of the map using foam tape. It looks like they are flying high over the map!
