These cards, using items from the Regal Reflections Collection is a perfect example. They are designed by or inspired by the talented Kim Kesti @kimkesti from Spellbinders, who taught a class at the Crop & Create Delivered event in September 2025.
What makes this collection special is how the pieces work together. You have the Regal Blooms Etched Dies, which create a lush vase of flowers, and the Regal Pair Etched Dies, featuring elegant dogs that nestle perfectly under the floral canopy. Tie it all together with the texture of the Regal Lattice 3D Embossing Folder, or the Arch Punch and Pierce Plate Etched Die, and you have a recipe for success.
Unleash Your Creativity: 3 Cardmaking Ideas with Regal Reflections
Let’s dive into the creative process! Here are three distinct ways to use this collection to create cards that are sure to impress.
Regal Card 1. You’re Simply Wonderful
For our first project, we are focusing on florals and texture to create a card that radiates warmth and appreciation. This design highlights the vase as the central focal point, bursting with blooms.
The Techniques:
Start by creating a textured background using the Regal Lattice 3D Embossing Folder. This folder adds a deep, sophisticated pattern that looks amazing in white or soft pastels. But Kim takes it to the next level with one of my favorite techniques: add ink to the inside front cover of the embossing folder, then immediately emboss it. Next, die-cut the pup and flowers using the Regal Pair Etched Dies and the Regal Blooms Etched Dies.
Pro Tip: Don’t be afraid to mix your greens! Cutting leaves from two or three shades of green cardstock adds realistic depth to your bouquet.
Arrange your flowers around the arch on the background and pop up the dog on foam tape for dimension. The sentiment on this card comes from a set that was exclusive to the event, but don’t worry! A fantastic substitute is the Spellbinders Lasting Impressions Clear Stamp Set. Heat emboss a sentiment like “Simply, Thank You” or “Make it a Day to Remember” to complete the look.

Regal Card 2. The Regal Pair
If you are an animal lover, this card is for you. This design showcases the elegant dogs from the collection, proving that sophisticated cards can still be adorable.
The Techniques:
This card was also designed by Kim Kesti, I just changed up the color palette. We begin by inking an A2 panel with an ombre effect horizontally using purple ink. Then we’re bringing back the Regal Lattice 3D Embossing Folder for that consistent, high-end background texture. This time, however, the stars of the show are the dogs from the Regal Pair Etched Dies. These dies cut two elegant spotted dogs sitting on tasseled cushions—talk about living the good life!
Cut the dogs from a soft brown cardstock such as Acorn. You can use a fine-tip black pen to add small details to their eyes or collars if you want to customize them further. We’ll use Regal Blooms Etched Dies again to add more floral detail.
Again, use the Lasting Impressions Clear Stamp Set for your greeting. A phrase like “Wishing You Life’s Finest Moments” or “Your Kindness Leaves a Lasting Impression” works beautifully within a 2″ circle. Pop up the regal dogs with foam tape and place them on either side of the sentiment, looking at each other atop the textured background to create a cozy, framed scene.

Regal Card 3. From Me To You
Our third card combines all the best elements for a truly show-stopping design. We are adding an extra layer of intricacy with a pierced gatefold card that mimics the look of ornate hand-carved arched wooden doors.
The Techniques:
Start by ombre inking a white A2 panel using Butter Bar ink, and immediately embossing it with the Regal Lattice 3D Embossing Folder. Stamp or press a lovely sentiment such as “Happy Birthday to You” in blue ink.
Create a white A2 gatefold card base, then die-cut the front panels with the arch die from the Arch Punch and Pierce Etched Dies set. Make sure that the center of the arch is at the center on each side and that you do not cut through the folded edges on each side.
To create our card front, we will use saffron cardstock and the Arch Punch and Pierce Etched Dies. This die set cuts a beautiful arch shape with pierced detailing that adds instant texture without adding bulk. Carefully remove the die after cutting and apply tape to the back to hold all the little die-cuts in place. Blend Fawn ink over each of the arches to create shadows on the door. Trim along the bottom of the middle arch cut line and down the center to create two doors. Attach the doors to the card front using double-sided adhesive.
Layer your Regal Blooms florals over the pierced arch. The embossed arch acts as a stage, drawing the eye right to your beautiful die-cuts. The combination of the embossed background, the pierced doors, and the layered die-cuts creates a card that is rich in texture and visual interest.
Finish it off with a simple heat-embossed sentiment heartfelt from the Lasting Impressions Clear Stamp Set, attached on the front of one of the doors.
