How To Make The Classic Christmas Card Featuring Christmas Cameos
Begin by selecting your base cardstock in a rich, festive color that complements the overall design. The beauty of this card lies in its layered approach, where each element builds upon the previous one to create depth and visual interest.
Start with your color panel and create a foundation layer that will serve as a frame for your cameo elements. To do so, trim a piece of red cardstock (I used pomegranate) to A2 size (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″). And, fasten the color panel to a white A2 card base. You can read How to Make A Card Base, and How To Attach A Color Panel. The key to success with this design is patience—take your time with each layer to ensure proper alignment and adhesion.
Use the Christmas Cameos 3D Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of green mirror cardstock with the lovely Christmas cameos. Highlight the designs with a gold metallic marker. When it’s dry, trim the embossed panel to 3 3/4″ x 5″ and fasten it centered on your card base using white liner.
Stamp a simple Christmas greeting on a white oval and layer it over a scalloped oval that mimic the cameos in your embossed panel.
Finish with subtle details that enhance the overall elegance without overwhelming the main focal points. Sometimes the smallest touches make the biggest difference in the final presentation.

How To Make The Modern Christmas Card Using Petite Criss Cross Press Plate, Metallic Ink, and Dimensional Snowflakes
The Petite Criss Cross Press Plate is the star of this modern masterpiece. This innovative tool impresses an intricate background that mimics a cross-stitch with a wintery snowflake design, fitting perfectly on an A2 standard size card front while adding lovely texture and dimension to your projects.
Begin by setting up your press plate with porcelain cardstock. The beauty of this technique lies in the subtle texture it creates, so ensure your cardstock is properly positioned before pressing.
Once you’ve created your textured background, it’s time to add the metallic ink accents. These lustrous touches catch the light beautifully and add sophisticated depth to the cross-stitch pattern. Blend the metallic ink strategically to highlight the raised portions of the design and with enough ink to have the second color appear.

How To Make the Gifting Bow Card using the Holiday Expansion Pack for the DIY Color Deck color palette and the Gifting Bow die set
The Gifting Bow Etched Dies are truly spectacular, featuring a set of 24 thin metal cutting dies that come together to create a stunning ribbon bow with a spray of holiday florals and ornaments. This versatile set is beautiful together as a ribboned bouquet, but the individual elements can also be used to create a wreath (which is what we’re doing), or for separate projects.
Start by selecting your color palette from the Holiday Expansion Pack, which provides perfectly coordinated colors that work harmoniously together. The key to this card’s success lies in the thoughtful color selection and layering.
We’re going to create a background similar to the card we’re using for inspiration by blending green ink around the edges of an A2 piece of teal cardstock. To draw the eye to the wreath we’ll blend a little darker across the lower third of the color panel and leave the teal peak through in the center on top.
Cut your bow components using the die set, taking care to organize the pieces as you work. With 24 different dies in this set, organization is crucial for a smooth crafting experience.
Lightly trace a 2 3/4″ circle die in the top 2/3’s of the blended panel to serve as a guide for our wreath. Assemble the wreth gradually, starting with the base elements and building up the layers. The bow makes a perfect topper for a wreath, while the floral elements are perfect for adding touches of color and whimsy.

The set includes two sentiment strips—”Merry and Bright” and “A Gift For You”—which provide the perfect finishing touch for your card. We’re going with “Merry and Bright” and we’ll cut an extra in the same color as the bow and layer it behind slightly off so that the color peeks out around the edges.
