How To Make A Heart Rainbow Card

Clean and simple handmade heart rainbow birthday card.

Create this clean and simple heart rainbow card yourself following the step-by-step instructions in this article.

Gorgeous color blocked birthday card with a heart rainbow background.

Wow, this card is a real eye-catcher, isn’t it? It’s one of our quickie cards and you can actually make several cards with the materials we use for this one.

For the hearts, we will run an A2 size ( 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) piece of each color cardstock through our die-cutting machine using the grid heart die. We’ll select one red heart, two orange, three yellow, three green, two blue, and one purple. And then we’ll use the die one more time with 80lb white cardstock.

Next, we’ll glue the negative spaces to a white A2 card base with liquid glue. Then, we’ll place each of the colored hearts in the negative heart spaces. And, we’ll do it in a rainbow beginning with red in the upper left-hand corner and ending with purple in the lower right-hand corner using liquid glue.

Once all the hearts are in place our background is complete. We’ll set aside the rest of the negative spaces for another card for another day.

Sentiments For the Heart Rainbow Card

All that is left is to add the sentiments for the card. We’ll do this by first die-cutting the sentiment from black cardstock. And then we’ll cut it three more times from white. Next, we’ll layer all of the die-cut sentiments together with the black one on top using liquid glue.

We do this to add dimension to the card and pop up the sentiment.

Then we’ll pick the spot where our layered sentiment will go so that we can determine where to stamp the rest of the sentiment. Once we decide on the perfect spot to put it, we’ll stamp it using black pigment ink.

And that’s it, wasn’t that fun?
