I am just finishing up two weeks of cardmaking with the most fantastic inspiration from twelve fabulous card makers! The class, Spring Card Camp 2022, is from Online Card Classes provided by #JenniferMcGuire and #KristinaWerner. And, oh boy! You need to check them out if you haven’t before now!

There will be several more articles with cards here using techniques that I’ve learned! But for this one, we will use a reverse wreath technique inspired by the class that #DanielWest taught.

Coloring the Unique Anniversary Card

To begin, we’re going to cut a large circle from the very center of a piece of acetate. And the acetate needs to be 5″ x 5″. And we do this because we need a stencil for our wreath. Hint: If you can’t find acetate you can make your template by running an empty laminating folder through your laminator and then cut it out.

Tape the template to a 5″ x 5″ piece of white cardstock with low-tack tape. And now, we’ll brush anti-static powder over the cardstock. We do this because we want to ensure that the embossing powder only sticks where we want it to.

Next, we’ll stamp our roses to create the reverse wreath. And to do this, we’ll use our stamp positioning tool. As a result, we only need to arrange the flowers on half of the circle. But, we want to make sure that a portion of the roses sits on the template. Therefore we will achieve the wreath effect that we’re looking for. Then we’ll stamp them with watermark ink. And then, we’ll turn the cardstock 180 degrees and repeat the process.

Now, we’ll sprinkle the black embossing powder over our stamped images and give the cardstock a good tap. By doing that, all the stray powder falls off of the card panel. Then we’ll heat it up with our heat tool until the powder is melted and smooth.

Red roses symbolize love and passion so we’re going to color ours with several shades of red. Using a small blending brush and in no particular order, we’ll blend each rose with a tone of red. Hint: varying the pressure that you use with your brush within the image gives some dimension to it.

Finishing the Card

Once we’re done with the coloring we can remove the stencil and place the card panel in your Misti. Trim a piece of Vellum to 5″ x 5″ and place it on top of the card panel in the Misti. And then arrange the sentiment stamps in the center. And then pick them up with the lid of the Misti.

Follow the same process we used earlier to heat emboss the sentiments. Only this time, use gunmetal metallic embossing powder instead.

To assemble the card we’ll trim a double-sided adhesive foam sheet to 4 3/4″ x 4 3/4″, and then we’ll remove the backing paper and attach it to the back of our card panel. Then we’ll remove the remaining backing paper and center the card panel on the card base.

And to finish the card we’ll use a couple of glue dots behind the sentiments on the vellum to attach it to the card panel making sure that it is aligned on all four sides.
