A Vintage Ornament die is what is behind the Stitchmas Day 3 door. And, I use it to make a special Christmas card!
This might just be my favorite card of all time. My favorite ornaments are the red satin ones that have a pretty glow all on their own. That is what I attempt to capture with this one with colored pencil shading. However, I like the idea of bringing in the gold to set it off. I stitch it with gold metallic thread and back it up with brushed gold cardstock. And, I think it does the trick, what do you think?
I was filming while coloring. I hope you enjoy this short little reel.
Another thing that I love about this card is the background. I’m not a very good photographer and don’t know how to capture dark backgrounds so I’ll try to describe it for you. It’s embossed with a beautiful vintage ornament embossing folder and dark green cardstock. And then, to carry on with the glint of gold, I use a shimmer spray which added gold specs all over.
I antiqued the card base and the sentiment by blending dark brown ink around the edges of pretty cream-colored cardstock. To create the sentiment, I heat embossed it with gold embossing powder. And then, to add some dimension we’ll pop up the ornament background, the ornament, and the sentiment with some foam tape.
