BetterPress November 24 Club Kits Plate of the Month

Creating a card with Spellbinders’ Monthly kits is both fun and rewarding.  One of the things that is so cool about them is that they coordinate with each other.  We’ll use four, BetterPress, Glimmer, 3D Embossing Folder, and the Bonus Die Set from the Caboodle kit for this card.  Hint:  this is why getting the Deluxe Caboodle Kit is such a good idea!

To begin, you’ll need to gather your materials and set up your BetterPress station. Start by choosing your desired ink colors and the sentiments that you want to use.   I chose a bright, colorful palette to celebrate birthdays with, so I use Distress Oxides that coordinate perfectly with Spellbinders cardstock for these cards.

Secure the acrylic guide that comes with the kit to the BetterPress chase (magnetic plate).  Starting with the first plate and Twisted Citron ink, use the guide for perfect placement. Then, apply the ink to the plate and use the press to transfer the ink onto the paper.  Move the place to the second position on the guide and repeat.  Using the guide, repeat using Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink.  Trim the panel to 4 1/4″ x 4 3/4″.

While you have all your equipment out, go ahead and ink up your choice of sentiments with Thunder BetterPress Ink and press it.  I use one of the sentiments from the Glimmer of the Month kit.

The result is a beautiful, professional-quality print that’s perfect for the background of your birthday card.

The key to a successful BetterPress card is attention to detail and patience. Take your time to ensure that each print is clean and precise, and don’t be afraid to experiment with different color combinations and designs. With a little practice, you’ll be able to create stunning cards that are sure to be cherished by their recipients.

3D Embossing Folder November 24 Club Kits

We’re using a unique method for the card base to really make the card pop.  Emboss a piece of peridot cardstock using this month’s fun 3D Embossing folder.  Trim it to A2 size (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) and fasten it to a white A2 size piece of heavy-weight cardstock using a white liner to ensure it’s fastened well.

Now, trim down a white A2 size side folding card base to 4 1/4″ x 4 3/4″ (the fold is along the 4 3/4″ side).  Refer to How To Make A Card Base for tips.  Fasten the BetterPress panel to the front with a tape runner.  And, attach the card base centered over the embossed panel using another piece of white liner adhesive sheet.

Colorful Stencil November 24 Club Kits Card

Colorful birthday card with a green crocodile, presents, and text saying "Happy Birthday" and "Party Time." Background features a vibrant woven pattern of orange, green, and purple made using November 24 Club Ki.

The Stencil November 24 Kit opens up a world of color and creativity for card makers. This month’s kit is a set of layering stencil that allow you to layer colors and patterns, creating dynamic and eye-catching designs. This kit is perfect for those who love to experiment with bold colors and intricate patterns.

The Stencil Kit encourages you to think outside the box and explore new techniques. By layering different stencils and colors, you can create depth and movement in your designs, bringing your cards to life. This kit is ideal for those who enjoy a hands-on approach to card making and want to explore new ways to express their creativity.

Whether you’re a seasoned stencil artist or new to the technique, the Stencil November 24 Kit offers endless possibilities for creating unique and personalized birthday cards. Its versatility and ease of use make it a must-have for any cardmaker looking to expand their repertoire.

How to Make the Stencil November 24 Club Kits Card

Colorful birthday card with a green crocodile, presents, and “Happy Birthday” and “Party Time” text against a multicolored checkered background. Blue and turquoise confetti scattered around made using November 24 Club Ki.

Creating a card with the Stencil November 24 Kit is a joyful and creative process. Begin by selecting your ink colors.  I’m using the same color palette we used for the first card, but we’ll add Wilted Violet.   Secure a piece of 3 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ (or larger if you want to trim it later) white paper using low-tack tape. This will ensure that the stencil stays in place as you work, preventing any unwanted smudges or shifts.

Next, apply a different ink color to each of the stencils using a blending brush.  Because the slimline panel is larger than the stencil, we have to carefully lift and move each of the stencils making sure that they are aligned with the first images that we stenciled.  The key to a successful stencil card is to build layers gradually, adding more colors and patterns as you go. This will create a sense of depth and complexity, making your card a visual delight.

Once you’ve finished stenciling, carefully remove the stencil and allow the ink or paint to dry completely.

Stencil November 24 Club Kits Card Die-cutting

Happy Birthday Sentiment

We’ll use this month’s Clear Stamp and Die set to create the sentiment for the card.  Stamp the Happy Birthday with Black BetterPress ink.  And then, use the dies from the Glimmer of the Month kit to cut them out.  And cut two more of each from white cardstock to layer behind the sentiments for dimension.

Assembly

Fasten the stenciled panel to a 3 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ card base using a tape runner.  Fasten down all your elements to the front of the card when you are satisfied with your arrangement.   You can use foam strips to pop up some of them for added dimension and interest.  With the Stencil Kit, the possibilities are truly endless.
