Hi There! I am so excited to be participating in this fun blog hop that celebrates Christmas with the Spellbinders July 2023 Monthly Clubs!
If you’re new to my blog, welcome! And, welcome back if you’ve been here before. I’m Teri, you’re host for this part of the hop. I can’t wait to get started with some of the fun things you can do with this month’s club kits.
This article was part of a blog hop which is now closed.
I love these club kits so much that I have just kept playing with them and would like to share what I’ve been up to.
July 2023 Monthly Clear Stamp and Die – Watercolor Christmas Card
The July 2023 Clear Stamp and Die of the Month set, Pine Cones and Holly, is outstanding! It features a beautiful frame of pine cones, pine boughs, and more Christmassy foliage. Also, it has three little stamps, a holly sprig, a poinsettia, and a twig to use to fill out the frame a little more and add some dimension.
And then, the featured sentiment, Merry Christmas, is done in a beautiful font. And it also has tiny sentiments to go with it: “and a happy new year”, “from our house to yours”, and “warm wishes from all of us”. Then, there are coordinating dies for every single piece, including the placard in the middle!
I thought it would be fun to use them to play with watercolors and heat embossing to make a Christmas card. I had the camera on while making this card so that you can watch along. Enjoy the video!
A little story for you: the day after I watercolored this card, I power-washed my driveway. We do that here in Florida to remove the dirt, pollen, and mildew that settle on them. You basically use a high-powered water spray to clean the driveway and sidewalks.
And, when you’re done you end up with a lot of dirt suspended in water on the surface that you have to spray off. I found myself moving that dirt and water much like I had on my card. I’ve never had so much fun cleaning the driveway before! I’m sure that it would not have been nearly that enjoyable had I done the driveway before I made my card. ha ha ha.

A Gorgeous Christmas Card Using Two Of The July 2023 Monthly Club Sets
Then, there’s the Large Die of the Month set called A Stocking Full of Joy which has a whopping 18 dies in it. This set is so versatile. It has everything from a Christmas stocking and candy canes to Christmas foliage, a gnome, and a gingerbread man. So, so fun!
The Snowflake Card
I use a combination of the dies from these two sets for my card today. My goal was to make it snowy and white with a pop of color. So, I use white cardstock for both the snowflake and the background. But I blend a little dark green ink behind the snowflake. And then I spritz it with iridescent spray to give it a snowy vibe and make it pop off of the background. And then, I pop it up with foam tape.
Following that, we’ll use the Holly and the Joy dies to add some holiday pizazz to the card.
HINT: You can add a little dimension to the holly leaves by blending some of your dark green ink at the base of the leaves and along the stems.

So pretty. I like the framing.
Beautiful cards! My favorite is the snowflake card. I love how the colors really stand out over the white and the addition of the green behind the snowflake is just what it needed.
Great cards. I think the snowflake die card is my favorite of the two that you made.
