The Classic Road Legends Muscle Car Card

A Classic Road Legends Cards birthday card featuring a red classic car, speedometer background, black-and-white plaid pattern, and a bold "Happy Birthday!" message.

Instructions:

  1. Create the Background

Start by pressing a black and white background representing a checkered flag using the Buffalo Plaid press plate.

  1. Die-Cut the Muscle Car and the Speedometer

Use the Classic Road Legends Muscle Car die to cut your vehicle from bright red cardstock (poppy) for a sleek, classic muscle car finish. Use silver mirror cardstock for lots of chrome trim, and raven for the seats, tires, and stripes.

Create a simple speedometer with coordinating colors; however, use brushed silver for the frame to keep the car in the spotlight

  1. Add Embellishments

Use glossy accents over vellem to create realistic lightbulbs. Blend dark brown or gray on the inside of the car, and across the back fender and the bottoms of the doors to create shadows. Conversely, blend a little white on top of the car and the hood to make it look like the sun is shining on it. Assemble the speedometer and attach it centered on the black and white background. Layer the muscle car onto the background using foam adhesive to give it dimension.

  1. Stamp Your Sentiment

Stamp the sentiment onto white cardstock with black ink and die-cut it with the coordinating die. Pop it up with some foam squares or strips

Voila! You’ve got a dynamic card that’s equal parts vintage and cool.

Supply List for the Muscle Car Card:

The Classic Road Legends Timeless Truck Card

A birthday card from the Classic Road Legends collection featuring a vintage blue pickup truck, sunburst background, and the text "Have A Classic Birthday!" at the top.

This design leans into rustic charm and warm nostalgia, featuring a lovely timeless truck. Perfect for male birthdays, retirement cards, or just celebrating life’s small victories.

Instructions:

  1. Build the Background Scene

Press the Radiant Sunburst Press Plate on porcelain cardstock with Clay BetterPress ink. Then, use a large blending brush to blend yellow over the entire card panel with a light hand. Then, use a smaller brush to blend more yellow in the center of the sun with a heavier hand. Finally, blend ripe persimmon, and crackling campfire around the bottom and the two bottom corners.

  1. Die-Cut the Truck

Die-cut the truck using muted blues or greens for a retro color scheme. Add details like the seats and headlights to bring the design to life. Blend with blue ink to cast shadows on the sides and front of the truck and inside the back window.

  1. Add Details

Make the headlights the same way that we did for the muscle car.

  1. Assemble the Card

A heartfelt phrase like “Driven To Celebrate You” pairs wonderfully with this design. Use kraft cardstock for a cohesive, rustic feel.

       5. Personalize with a Sentiment

A fun phrase like “Have A Classic Birthday” pairs wonderfully with this design. Use dark blue cardstock to shadow behind the sentiment die-cut from “chrome”.

How to Make the Classic Road Legends Classic Car Card

Instructions:

  1. Craft a Dramatic Background

Use the Scenic Drive layered stencil to create a sophisticated sunset backdrop.

  1. Die-Cut the Classic Car

Cut the vintage car and subtle shadow layers from red and chrome cardstock. This pairing screams sophistication. Blend shadows and highlights with ink.

  1. Add Dimension

Use Spellbinders’ foam squares in different thicknesses to elevate the car front. Place the gold vintage car slightly off-center for an artistic touch.

  1. Finishing Touches

Finish by stamping your sentiments on a piece of white cardstock with black ink. Use the phrase “Cruisin’ by to say…” and die-cut it with the coordinating die. Pop it up on the cardfront. And, “Happy Father’s Day” to attach on the inside.
