Not 1, but 2 spooky Halloween cards in this article! Read all the way to the end to find out what to use and how to make both of them.
Making Halloween cards is always so fun. That’s because you can be creative in kind of a different ghoulish way than you normally do.
Both of my cards are created using products from the latest release from Spellbinders. I am using the Halloween Icons Press Plate and Die Set for both of my cards today. And, I use the Notched Corner Frames Die Set from the BetterPress Autumn collection.

Ghost Cave: Card 1 of 2 Spooky Halloween Cards
I use the five smallest dies in the Notched Corner Frames Die Set to create a cave. And I color three of the Halloween Icons with alcohol markers. Then, I fussy cut them out separating the ghosts and I only use one of the bats.
Next, I blend an outdoorsy scene on the front of the card base. And then, I cut a notched corner frame in it to create the opening to the cave.
You want to offset each of the frames unevenly to visually represent the depths of the cave. And, you end up with a hole in the card front. I do a little bit of blending on the inside of the card base. And then I fasten the smaller of the two ghosts so that you can see it through the opening.
Layer the frames together using a tape runner. And, add the larger ghost in between a couple of them. Once they are all fastened together I add them to the inside of the card front.
Blend a little brown ink around the sentiment and layer it up. After that, all that’s left is to attach it, the bat, and the headstone to the card.

Witch’s Hat: Card 2 of 2 Spooky Halloween Cards
My second card is so much fun. I start by blending orange onto a white BetterPress panel. Next, we’ll blend a little brown ink around the edges. And then we’ll press the spider web design onto it with black ink. While we have the BetterPress System out, we’ll also press the witch’s hat and the sentiments onto Bisque BetterPress cardstock.
Next, we’ll use the notched corner frames to cut out the hat and a gray frame. And then, we’ll also die-cut the sentiment and tiny little flowers from autumn shades of red, yellow, and green cardstock.
To create a little dimension, I use flower-making tools to bend the little flowers perfectly.
And there you have it, 2 darling kinds of spooky Halloween cards that are oh, so fun to make.
