I have two cards for you to try.

The Sparkle Card

Beautiful greeting card featuring glittery disco balls that has the sentiment "Sparkle on my friend. This card is made with products from Spellbinders Shine Bright Collection.

The first project using the Shine Bright Collection is the Sparkle Card. This card is all about making a statement, with glittering elements that catch the light and draw the eye. It’s ideal for special occasions where you want to send a message that’s both heartfelt and visually stunning.

The Sparkle Card combines various materials from the collection to create a layered effect that sparkles from every angle. It’s a project that allows you to experiment with textures and colors, making each card as unique as the person receiving it. And despite its intricate look, it’s surprisingly easy to make—with a little guidance, you’ll have a dazzling card ready in no time.

Creating a Sparkle Card is not just about following instructions; it’s also about letting your creativity run wild. Think of it as a canvas where you can express your personality and style. And the best part? There’s no right or wrong way to make it. Just follow your instincts and see where they take you.

How To Make the Sparkle Card

Making a Sparkle Card is a fun and rewarding process that even beginners can enjoy. Start by gathering all the materials you need from the Shine Bright Collection. This includes shiny cardstock, decorative dies, and a selection of cardstock in your favorite embossing powders.

Begin by cutting your heavy white cardstock to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ to create an A2 size (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) card base. Trim a piece of dark teal blue cardstock to 4″ x 5 1/4″ or use a rectangle die. I used Spellbinders blue spruce but it looks like it is discontinued. Fasten the color panel to the card base with a tape runner.

Create The Focal Point

Use the Disco Impressions press plate and Teal Topaz ink to press the largest ball on porcelain cardstock. Create the sparkle for the disco ball with different colors of sparkle heat embossing powder and the Layered Disco Impressions Stencil set. Then, use the coordinating die to cut out the sparkly ball and pop it up with foam strips.

Next, die-cut the two smallest Disco Balls Etched Dies from silver mirror cardstock to add that all-important sparkle. Pop one of them up with the thin foam squares.

Add a Stunning Sentiment

Finally, personalize your card with a message or sentiment. The Sparkle On Sentiments Press Plate & Die set is a perfect choice for this card paired with Shine Bright Sentiment Strips. You can create a heartfelt note with a combination, ensuring your card is beautiful and meaningful. And there you have it—a stunning Sparkle Card ready to impress!

Sparkle Card Supplies

To create your own Sparkle Card, you’ll need a few key supplies. First and foremost, the Shine Bright Collection is a must-have, providing you with all the glittery and decorative elements you need.

How To Make The Shine Bright Card

Create The Base

To start making your Shine Bright Card, gather your supplies from the collection, including press plates, and dies. Choose a color scheme that complements the metallic elements—think classic combinations like deep dark navy and sparkly silver.

Begin by preparing your A2 size top folding card base, cutting the cardstock to size (8 1/2″ x 4 1/4″), and folding it neatly. Press the largest Disco Impressions Press Plates with silver glitter cardstock and black ink. Then, use the coordinating die to cut out the design.

While you have your BetterPress System out, go ahead and press the Shine Bright sentiment with black ink. And then, use the coordinating die to die-cut it. Die-cut one more from a white scrap to layer behind it.

Use a circle die that is slightly larger than the disco ball to die-cut a circle centered on the card front. Trim another piece of navy cardstock to A2 size. Place it inside the card so it is snug at the top and side. Use a pencil to lightly trace the circle cut from the card front. Now, die-cut the traced circle.

Die-cut the largest disco ball from the Disco Balls Etched Dies set from silver mirror cardstock.

Assemble With Perfection

To assemble the card, cut a piece of metallic thread ten inches long. Fold it in the middle so that it is doubled, and use strong tape to fasten it to the back of the glitter disco ball. Use liquid glue to glue the silver mirror disco ball to the back of the glitter ball, ensuring there that the glue covers the thread.

Next, place the disco ball strategically within the die-cut circle on the card front and tape over the thread at the top and the bottom. Attach the A2 panel with the circle die-cut over the top with liquid glue, making sure that all the edges are lined up.

Finally, add the sentiment with liquid glue. And with that, your Shine Bright Card is complete—ready to be admired and cherished.
