How To Make The Floral Garden Card

Watercolored birthday card created using Floral Garden from Stampendous Beautiful Backgrounds Collection

Card making is a beloved hobby for many, combining creativity and craftsmanship. Today, we’ll walk through how to create a beautiful Floral Garden Card. This project is perfect for card making lovers and DIY enthusiasts who enjoy adding a personal touch to their greetings. Let’s get started!

Materials You’ll Need:

Step 1: Prepare the Watercolor Paper

Start by cutting a piece of watercolor paper to your desired card size. Watercolor paper is ideal because it absorbs paint well and gives a beautiful texture.

Step 2: Heat Emboss the Floral Garden Image

Next, choose a floral garden stamp that you love. Stamp the image onto the watercolor paper using a clear embossing ink pad. Sprinkle embossing powder over the inked image, tap off the excess, and use a heat gun to melt the powder. This will create a raised, glossy outline that will resist the watercolor paint.

Step 3: Color the Images with Watercolor Paints

Now comes the fun part—painting! Use watercolor paints to fill in the embossed floral image. Don’t be afraid to play with colors and techniques. You can mix different shades to create depth and interest. Allow the paint to dry completely before moving on to the next step.

Step 4: Stamp and Die-Cut the Sentiments

While your painted image is drying, stamp your chosen sentiment onto a separate piece of cardstock. Use a coordinating die to cut out the sentiment. And, cut three more from white cardstock scraps to use for layering.  Or, you can also add a foam adhesive to the back of the die-cut sentiment for added dimension.

Step 5: Assemble the Card

Finally, it’s time to put everything together. Adhere the painted watercolor paper onto a card base using strong adhesive. Position your die-cut sentiment on the card, and adhere it as well. Feel free to add any additional embellishments like sequins, ribbon, or glitter to complete your design.

Conclusion

Creating a Floral Garden Card is a wonderful way to express your creativity and make something truly beautiful. By following these steps, you’ll have a stunning handmade card to share with someone special. Happy crafting!
