How To Craft a Card For All Seasons

How to Create Seasonal Cards with Spellbinders’ All Seasons Collection

We are introducing the enchanting All Seasons Collection by Spellbinders! This exclusive set of products is perfect for card makers, scrapbookers, and paper crafting enthusiasts who love celebrating each season with unique and personalized creations.

One of the things I love about the sets in this collection is that you can use them with anything in your crafty stash.  In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to make four stunning seasonal cards using some of the new products from this collection.  And, with other things that you might just have in your stash too. Let’s get crafting!

Spring All Seasons Card

  1. Base Preparation:
  • Cut a piece of heavy white cardstock such as Neenah Classic Crest 110lb Solar White to your A2 card size (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″).
  • Fold it in half to create the card base.

  1. Background Preparation:
  • Use a wide watercolor brush to brush an A2 piece of watercolor paper with water.
  • Add rainbow colors on a diagonal covering the entire panel.
  • Once the panel is dry, trim it to 4″ x 5 1/4″ or use a rectangle die to cut it to size.
  1. Letterpress:
  • Use the All Season’s Spring Press Plate for the sentiment. and then use the coordinating die to die-cut it out. Use the die-cut three more to layer behind the sentiment.
  • Press the Butterfly Swirl Press Plate onto white watercolor paper.
  1. Final Touches:
  • Pop the background up with foam strips and fasten it centered on the card base. Add prisma glitter with a quickie glue pen to a couple of the butterflies to create a magical feel.
  • Layer the extra die-cuts behind the sentiment with liquid glue and fasten it to the lower right-hand side of the card.

Summer All Seasons Card

  1. Base Preparation:
  • Cut a piece of heavy-weight cardstock such as Neenah Classic Crest 110lb Solar White to 5 1/2″ x 11″ to create a square card base. Score the panel at the 5 1/2″ mark lengthwise.
  • Select a bright, sunny cardstock like waterfall for the color panel, cut it to 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, and attach it to the card base using a tape runner.
  1. Heat Embossing:
  • Use Stampendous Floral Garden Cling Stamp to create a pretty summery floral background. Heat emboss the image onto snowdrift cardstock using a colorful embossing powder like Seedless Grapes Embossing Glaze.   1. Coloring:
Color swatch of Distress Watercolor Pencils to use while making the All Seasons Summer card.
  • Use Distress Oxide Watercolor pencils to add color to the image, starting with the darkest colors where you want the shadows to be. Then, use a watercolor brush marker with water in it to activate and blend the pigment. Once it’s dry, trim the panel to 5 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and pop it up centered on the card front using foam strips.
  1. Final Touches:
  • Die-cut the sentiment from teal topaz and the shadow from white glitter cardstock to add some sparkle.
  • Fasten them together using liquid glue and then pop them up at a slight angle using foam squares.

Autumn All Seasons Card

  1. Base Preparation:
  • Make a white A2 ( 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) card base.
  • Trim a piece of brushed black cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and fasten it to the card base using a tape runner.
  1. Background:
  • Blend Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink onto an A2 panel of porcelain BetterPress cardstock with a large blending brush.
  • Press the orange panel with the Spider Web Background Press using Black BetterPress ink.
  • Blend Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink around the edges of the panel to create a “smoky’ tunnel.
  • Heat emboss the panel with Raven Sparkle embossing powder. You can find tips on achieving perfect results with your heat embossing at Mastering the Basics of Heat Embossing.
  • Trim the panel to 4″ x 5 1/4″ when the panel is cool and fasten it to the card front with a tape runner.
  1. Focal Point and Sentiment:
  • Using Black BetterPress ink, press the two ghosts with hats from the Halloween Icons Press Plate & Die set on Porcelain cardstock.
  • Do the same with the “trick or treat” sentiment from the All Seasons Autumn Press Plate & Die set. Cut three more sentiment shapes from white cardstock and layer them behind the sentiment with liquid glue.
  • Add foam squares to the back of the ghosts.
  1. Final Touches:
  • Create a cozy trick-or-treat scene on the card base with your die cuts.
  • Add the sentiment and we’re finished.

Winter All Seasons Card

  1. Create your card base:
  • Cut a piece of cool, icy cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.
  • Fold it in half to create an A2 card base.
  • Use adhesive to attach the card base together and secure it in place.
  1. Base Preparation:
  • Make a white A2 ( 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) card base.
  • Select cool, icy cardstock like glacier for the color panel and trim it to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and fasten it to the card base using a tape runner.
  1. Background:
  • Blend Thunder, French Blue, and Leaf BetterPress Inks onto the Evergreens Press Plate and press it on a quarter sheet of porcelain BetterPress cardstock.
  • Spray the letterpress panel with Sheer Shimmer Sparkle spray.
  • to create some colored sparkly splatter, mix Spellbinders Splatter White with Hero Arts Royal Purple & Gold Two Tone Spray and splatter it over the card panel. Repeat with Ocean Blue & Gold Two-Tone Spray.
  • Trim the panel to 4″ x 5 1/4″ when the panel is cool and fasten it to the card front with a tape runner.
  1. Final Touches:
  • Apply Wild Berry BetterPress Ink to the All Season’s Winter sentiments and then add Cosmic Sky BetterPress ink to create purple and press the sentiments on Porcelain cardstock.
  • Die-cut the sentiments using the coordinating die. Use the die with white cardstock three more times and layer the extra die-cuts behind the sentiment with liquid glue to create some dimension.
  • Fasten the sentiment to the card front in the lower right-hand corner with liquid glue.
