Setting monthly goals increases your chances of successfully achieving your New Year Resolutions. Make these rainbow cards to document them for each month.
Ink Blending the Rainbow Background
We’ll begin by selecting the inks we want to use. Rather than going with our usual brights, let’s tone it down a bit and use muted tones. Starting at the top of a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of cardstock we’ll blend the red. We do this using a blending brush using circular motions.
We’re using five colors so we’ll cover just over 20% of the card with each color. After we’re done with the first color we’ll use the same technique with the next one making sure to overlap the first color. And then we’ll go back over where the colors overlap with the first color to get a good blend.
And, we’ll repeat these steps for all five colors. As a result, we end up with a beautiful rainbow to use for our background.
Stamping Monthly Goals Images
We can make twelve of these cards in a flash using a stamp positioning tool and a goals stamp set. And we want to remember to change out the January stamp after completing the first one using a stamp set that has all the months.
First, we’ll position our stamps. And then we’ll load them with black pigment ink and stamp the images onto each of our rainbow cards. We want to make sure that the ink is dry before going on to the next step so we’ll heat set it with our heat tool.
Die-cutting and Assembling our Monthly Goals Cards
We’ll use a scalloped frame die to cut a pretty frame from the rainbow cards. Then we can use the same die to cut a black color layer. And then we’ll trim the rainbow goal cards with a rectangle die that is 1/4″ smaller than the inside of the frame on both sides.
To assemble the cards we’ll attach the color layer to the card base using a dot runner. Then we’ll attach the frame around it with liquid glue. And now we’ll use the runner again to center the goal cards over the black color layers.
We’ll finish off our monthly goal cards by handwriting our goals on them using a multiliner marker. Hint: If there is a gap between the black color layer and the frame, draw an outline around the color layer with the multiliner.
- Add your goals by handwriting them with micro tip pen
