The Large Die of the Month, aptly titled “Botanical Atrium,” is a showstopper. With its layered floral designs and intricate details, this die brings endless possibilities to your projects. Imagine creating a vibrant bouquet that adds a 3D touch to your cards, or layering delicate petals for a chic, minimalist look. The versatility of this tool makes it perfect for spring-themed cards, Mother’s Day gifts, or even scrapbook embellishments.

Take this stunning card as an example. Featuring pastel blooms, a layered background, and a playful sentiment, it’s the perfect way to convey joy and warmth. The die’s crisp cuts and design precision make assembling your card easy and fun, even for beginner crafters.

Tip: Pair these blooms with soft pastel cardstock or metallic foils for added texture.

How to Make the Large Die of the Month Card

Here’s a quick guide to creating your very own card using the Botanical Atrium  Large Die of the Month kit:

  1. Create Your Base:

Using the Large Die of the Month from December, create a pop-up base with heavy-weight white cardstock.

  1. Die-Cut Flowers, Leaves, and Atrium:

Prepare multiple pieces of flowers and leaves in various spring-inspired colors like blush pink, yellow, orange, and a couple of greens. Die-cut two of the atrium from the same heavy-weight white cardstock as used for the base.

  1. Arrange & Assemble:

Arrange your florals in layers with liquid adhesive for dimension. Don’t forget to mix and match leaf shapes and sizes to keep it dynamic! I recommend that you glue the flowers onto the base first. Once all the flowers are in place, attach one of the atriums onto the base in the center with liquid glue. Attach the other one in the back. Glue the two atrium pieces together on the top and both sides.

  1. Add Finishing Touches:

Complete your card with a stamped sentiment from the clear stamp and die set of the month. A touch of shiny cardstock and gems on the butterflies adds an extra sparkle.

January ‘25 Club Kits: Stencil of the Month

Handmade card crafted with Club Kits, adorned with a butterfly and pink flowers, featuring the text "Thank you for your generosity" on a wooden surface. Created with Stenceil and Betterpress January '25 Club Kits from Spellbinders

Up next is the Stencil of the Month, an irresistible set of layered stencils called “Nature’s Frame”. This stencil is packed with sweet floral patterns that celebrate spring’s lively energy. A versatile tool, “Nature’s Frame” is perfect for adding layered depth to your cards—whether you’re a seasoned stencil pro or just getting started.

Card Created with the Stencil of the Month

The card we made using “Nature’s Frame” captures the essence of spring. We combined soft shades of lilac and mint green using ink blending techniques, resulting in a fresh and airy vibe.

Hack: Outline your stencil designs with a metallic gel pen to create a polished, dimensional look.

How to Make the Stencil of the Month Card

  1. Stencil the Background: Tape your card panel down or fasten it to a grip mat or sticky mat and secure the first stencil layer. Blend your first ink color using blending brushes or sponge daubers for smooth gradients.
  2. Layer Colors: Align the second stencil layer and add the second ink color. Double-check alignment to ensure clean layering effects! Repeat for the remaining layer.
  3. Add Sentiment: Using one of the stamps from “Nature’s Dance” the Clear Stamp of the Month, heat emboss the sentiment on the stenciled background with silver embossing powder.
  4. Press the Butterfly: Betterpress the butterfly using the darkest orchid ink on light blue cardstock. Use liquid glue and glitter to add some sparkle.

January ‘25 Club Kits: 3D Embossing Folder & BetterPress of the Month

For the ultimate texture lovers, the combined power of the 3D Embossing Folder and Betterpress Collection is a game-changer. This month, the theme blooms with floral embossing and refined letterpress designs that add sophistication to any card.

A handmade thank you card features a colorful butterfly on an embossed white background with a woven pattern, crafted 3D Embossing Folder and Betterpress January '25 Club Kits from Spellbinders, set against a green backdrop.

Here, we have two cards created using the same techniques.  The only differences are the colors I used and the orientation of the cards.

Dive into textures with these simple instructions.

Steps to Create Card One (3D Embossing):

Dive into textures with these simple instructions:

  1. Prepare Your Cardstock: Choose the cardstock that you want to use for your background. I selected a couple of panels from my stash that I had made with leftover ink and water.
  2. Run through Embossing Folder: Place your cardstock or background panel in the  “Stylized Lattice” embossing folder (January ’25 Club Kit: 3D Embossing Folder) and run it through your embossing machine. You’ll end up with a deeply embossed lattice pattern.
  3. Add Your Final Touches: Highlight the embossed areas with metallic paints or embellishments.
  4. Ink Your Betterpress: Use black Betterpress ink over the beautiful butterflies from the “Take Flight” BetterPress Plate set, the January ’25 BetterPress of the month design.
  5. Press the Cardstock: Run the Betterpress plate and white cardstock through your machine to get the imprint.
  6. Add a Splash of Color: Use watercolor or alcohol markers to bring the butterflies to life. Or, you can use the bonus gift from the January ’25 Deluxe Caboodle kit, a coordinating layered stencil to add a variation of color to your butterflies.
