Hi, friends! I’m participating in a fun Instagram Reel Hop with several of my fellow Altenew Certified Educators. The theme is “𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐖𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬” and there are some absolutely lovely projects in this hop! The hop starts from @altenewllc, so make sure you start from the beginning!

Altenew is giving away a $20 gift certificate to 5 lucky winners! For a chance to win, please follow @altenewllc and @cutcolorandcreate and leave a comment by 02/26/2024.

Here are the steps that you need to take:

  • Place a 5″ x 7″ piece of white cardstock in your Stampwheel
  • Locate your Seasonal Blooms stamp where you want it to be and then pick it up with the lid
  • Load your stamp with Obsidian ink and then lower the lid down over the cardstock and stamp your image.
  • Remove your stamped panel from the stampwheel and then add a scrap of white cardstock large enough to stamp the butterfly on it. Go ahead and stamp it with Obsidian. Ensure that your ink is good and dry before proceeding.
  • Color the card panel using woodless watercolor pencils
  • Next, we’ll use Watercolor Brush Markers and water to color the butterfly
  • Add a little pizzaz to the butterfly by coating the butterfly with glue and adding glitter.
  • Use the coordinating die to die-cut the butterfly
  • While you have your die-cutting machine out, go ahead and die-cut the sentiment from brushed gold cardstock
  • Trim a piece of colored cardstock that coordinates with your coloring to 5″ x 7″. I use green.
  • Attach the colored cardstock to a white 5″ x 7″ card base using glue tape.
  • Trim the colored panel to 4.375″ x 6.375″ or use a die to die-cut it
  • Pop the colored panel up with Instant Dimension Foam Tape. Then pop the butterfly on top of it.
  • Lastly, add the sentiment with liquid glue.
