Hi, Welcome to my blog!
I’m participating in a wonderful blog hop designed to deliver joy in several ways.
- Altenew is hosting a special card drive to help brighten the day for seniors. The intent behind the drive? To help these individuals to feel cherished, appreciated, and respected. You can participate by:
- Making a handmade card(s) celebrating Mother’s Day or Father’s Day
- Sign your name and include a note if you want.
- Put the card(s) in an envelope – but don’t seal it
-
Send your cards to:
Altenew
ATTN: Card Drive
3005 Milton Ave
Syracuse, NY 13209 - Click HERE for more details about the card drive.
- I don’t have to tell you how much joy you get from making handmade cards, but giving them to someone else (especially like this) brings even more joy.
- To get ideas for your card(s) you can hop along on the Celebrating Parents Card Drive Blog Hop with me. There are so many talented people participating this year! More about that later in this article.
My Card For The Parent’s Card Drive Blog Hop
One of the cards that I’m sending to the drive is a beautiful floral Mother’s Day card.
No matter who or why I’m making a Mother’s Day card I always have my Mom in mind while doing so. She is the sweetest, kindest person who loves me and my brothers and sister unconditionally. She loves flowers and pretty things. Therefore, my card includes both.
I use one of my go to stamp sets, Altenew’s Adore You to create a lovely background on kraft cardstock. In addition, I’m using white embossing powder the heat emboss the images. This really makes them pop.
Next, my goal is to use pastel colors to make the background more feminine. I’m absolutely in love with the combination of Puffy Heart, Sunray, and Matcha Tea, Altenew’s Fresh Dye inks. Consequently, it’s easy to use them to paint the flowers with the colors of a peace rose.
For the sentiment, I use the two smallest dies in the Nesting Slim Labels Die Set to help draw the eye to it. And then, I finish it off with a little white twine bow.
