The holidays might be around the corner, but for crafters, the real excitement comes in the form of the December club kits! This December, Spellbinders has truly outdone themselves with a collection that feels cozy, elegant, and full of heart. Whether you are looking to add deep texture to your projects or want the crisp elegance of letterpress, this month’s lineup has something special for everyone.
If you’ve been looking for inspiration on how to use these new goodies, you’re in the right place. We’re diving into four unique card ideas featuring the December 2025 Club Kits. Grab your Platinum machine and let’s get crafting!
Card 1: Wrapped in Care
Featured Kit: Large Die of the Month
This month’s Large Die of the Month is aptly named “Wrapped in Care.” The beauty of this kit is its size—double the size of the small die set!—making it perfect for creating a substantial focal point on your card.
To recreate this look, start by selecting a bright palette of cardstock—think magentas, pinks, and orange to showcase the beautiful brown we’re using for skin. Run the main dies through your machine to cut out the intricate elements. Because these dies also emboss, you’ll notice beautiful, subtle details etched right into the paper. Assemble the pieces to look like a lovely wrapped person in a cozy bundle at the spa. The base die is large enough to create a card base of the head and shoulders for a greeting that feels like a warm hug.
December Club Kit Card 2: I’d Pick You
Featured Kit: BetterPress Plate of the Month
There is nothing quite like the tactile feel of a letterpress card. The December BetterPress Plate, “I’d Pick You,” brings that professional stationery style right to your craft room without the mess.
For this card, we are keeping it simple to let the letterpress shine. Tape your card panel to the Platen (the clear top plate) and place the “I’d Pick You” press plate onto the magnetic Chase. Apply your favorite ink—a magenta pink and bright orange works beautifully here—and run the sandwich through your manual die-cutting machine. The result is a crisp, detailed impression that you can feel. Add a simple sentiment strip in black, and you have an elegant card ready for a friend or loved one.
December Club Kit Card 3: Where Love Lands
Featured Kit: Stencil of the Month
Stencils are one of the most versatile tools in a crafter’s arsenal, and the “Where Love Lands” set is no exception. This kit is designed to coordinate with other Spellbinders clubs, but it shines brilliantly on its own, too.
For a soft, dreamy background, secure fairy tale cardstock and place the stencil over it. Using blending brushes, gently apply ink in a gradient—starting with a saturated color at the bottom of each feature and fading at the top. I like to use unique colors to create a lovely scene. A sentiment stamped in black on white cardstock creates the perfect contrast to all the color you’re using. Pop up the die-cut sentiment in the center, and you have a colorful, vibrant card in minutes.
December Club Kit Card 4: Unlock My Heart
Featured Kit: 3D Embossing Folder of the Month
If you want to add serious drama to your projects, look no further than the “Unlock My Heart” 3D Embossing Folder. Unlike standard folders, this 3D version sculpts the paper into different depths, creating a stunning, multi-level texture.
To make this textured masterpiece, die-cut a fun scalloped oval from pastel peach cardstock and place it inside the folder. Build your sandwich using the Universal Plate System (which is necessary for these thicker 3D folders) and run it through your machine. Use a coordinating oval die to create a card base and fasten the embossed scalloped oval on top.
Use cute die-cut elements to decorate the card front, some fastened with foam tape to give dimension. This background is so impactful that you barely need embellishments—just a simple “Hello” or “Love You” banner will do the trick, or use one from one of the December kits like “Have a self-love day on me”!
