How to Make the Ahoy BetterPress Card
- Prepare your materials: Start with an alabaster cardstock base and gather your BetterPress Letterpress plates in nautical patterns.
- Create the letterpress background: Align the “Harbor Weave” plate onto the BetterPress plate system. Add your chosen cosmic sky press ink for a clean, vivid impression on the fawn cardstock.
- Build layers: Use coordinating blue-toned papers to create waves, and integrate a die-cut color panel for dimension.
- Add finishing touches: Use pressed sentiments “Ahoy!” “Party like a sea captain Happy Birthday” for that whimsical, ship-worthy feel.

The Anchors Away card is all about depth and texture. Using the 3D Embossing Folder from the June Club Kit, this design showcases layered beauty with an anchor motif front and center.
How to Make the Anchors Away 3D Embossing Folder Card
- Start with your base: Choose a navy cardstock for a bold maritime backdrop.
- Create your rope texture: Run a 2 1/4″ x 3 1/2″ piece of navy cardstock in the 3D embossing folder through your die-cutting machine. The embossing creates incredible depth and realism.
- Highlight details: Heat emboss the sentiment”Anchors Away To An Amazing Birthday” and the anchor with gold embossing powder for a polished touch.
- Complete the design: Add the color panel to a white A2-size (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) card base using a tape runner. Read How To Make A Card Base for tips. Layer the embossed panel with a 2 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ piece of brushed gold cardstock. Create even more dimension by adding foam squares behind the sentiment and the anchor before attaching them on top. HINT: Using a rectangle die set helps to make these layers in a jiffy.
