Miss You Card Tutorial

Learn how to make this gorgeous Miss You silhouette card to celebrate Altenew’s 10th anniversary with step-by-step instructions and a full supply list.

The first step is to blend sunset-type colors across an A2 (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) piece of white cardstock.   Altenew large blending brushes are perfect for doing this kind of blending.  And, beginning with Peachy Keen ink, or a pale orange, blend it along the bottom edge of the panel when it’s in portrait orientation.  Follow that with Rose Quartz, or a pale pink,  and be sure to overlap the colors.  Next, is Pink Crystal, or pale purple.  And finish up with Water Hyacinth.

Layered Stamping For the Miss You Card

The next step is to do some stamping with silhouette stamps.  I like to use a Stampwheel for stamping silhouettes just in case you need to stamp a second time.  Place your blended card panel on your Stampwheel and make sure that it is fastened down to the mat.

The idea is to use a medium blue for images that will be kind of in the background, and then darker ones in the front and more in the lower half of the card. So, you’ll be arranging and stamping several different times.  First you’ll need to arrange your stamps at about one third from the top.  And then stamp them with Alpine Aster.  Now, change up some of the stamps and arrange them anywhere below where you just stamped.  And use the Alpine Aster again to stamp the images.

Following that, you’ll want to add your sentiment and arrange the floral stamps again.  But, this time you’ll only be adding them in the lower third to half way up.  Go ahead and stamp them with Navy ink.  And you can even stamp the ones at the very bottom once with Navy and once withe Jet Black.

Assembly

Trim the card panel to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and fasten it centered on the card panel with a tape runner.  And that is all there is to this pretty card.
