The “Little Flair” Card – Nov 2025 BetterPress Card
First up is a chic and stylish card using the “Paws In The City” BetterPress Plate of the Month. This design is perfect for that fashion-forward friend in your life. The BetterPress system creates a crisp, deep impression that mimics the elegance of traditional letterpress, giving your card a professional and luxurious feel.
How to make the “Little Flair” card:
- Prepare your materials: You will need the BetterPress Plate of the Month, the BetterPress System, black ink, a die-cutting machine, watercolor paper, and your favorite coloring medium (like alcohol markers or watercolor paints).
- Create the BetterPress panel: Blend a pretty background on an A2 size piece of watercolor cardstock: blue on the top two thirds, green on the bottom third. Place the main fashion figure press plate onto the magnetic Chase of your BetterPress system. Tape your watercolor card panel onto the Platen (the clear lid).
- Ink it up: Carefully apply black ink to the raised surface of the press plate.
- Make the impression: Assemble the letterpress sandwich by placing the Platen with the cardstock over the inked plate on the Chase. Run the entire system through your die-cutting machine. The pressure will transfer the ink and create a beautiful, debossed image.
- Add some color: Now for the fun part! Use your water-reactive color pencils (I like Derwent Inktense) to color in the stylish figure. Think about a classic color combination, like a red skirt, shoes, and a beret, and a blue and red top and accessories, to make the design pop. Don’t forget the pooch. You can even add some shadows under the figures to ground them.
- Add a little flair: Take it up a notch by adding a faint design around the panel with gray ink. To do so, you can use a fun BetterPress plate such as Grungy Background. Apply gray ink directly to the plate around the edges and then lower the card panel down over the top and lightly press with your fingertips.
- Assemble the card: Once colored, trim your panel to A2 size and mount it onto a standard A2-sized card base with double-sided adhesive. You can add a simple sentiment from the kit, like “You’ve got that little flair,” to complete the look.

The “Smiles” Card – Nov 2025 Clear Stamp & Die Card
Next, we’ll create a cheerful card using the “Go-To Girl” Clear Stamp & Die of the Month. This set is fantastic because it has the most darling girls with coordinating dies. This card is all about bringing a smile to someone’s face.
How to make the “Smiles” card:
- Stamp your images: Using a waterproof black ink, stamp the main girl image and the “Smiles” sentiment from the “Go-To Girl” set onto a piece of smooth white cardstock.
- Color your heart out: Bring the stamped image to life with your coloring medium of choice. I like to use the same water-reactive colored pencils for tiny designs like this. Bright, happy colors work wonderfully here.
- Die-cut the elements: Create a beautiful, color-coordinated frame by trimming a color panel to A2 size. Then use a cute scalloped rectangle like the Bow & Bell Scallop frame. Now trim the stamped and colored panel to fit inside the frame. I like to use the simple frame in the Bow & Bell Scallop Frame Etched die set for this.
- Put it all together: Adhere your color panel to an A2 card base. Then, the scallop frame and finally the focal point. You can use foam adhesive to pop up your die-cut girl and sentiment. This adds a wonderful dimension and makes the card feel extra special.

The “In Style” Card – Nov 2025 Large Die Card
For our third project, we’re diving into the “Charmed Life” Large Die of the Month. This versatile die set is perfect for creating intricate, layered designs. We’ll make a card that celebrates style and friendship with a beautiful, multi-layered focal point.
How to make the “In Style” card:
- Die-cut your pieces: This set includes several dies to create a layered purse and accessories. Choose a few complementary shades of cardstock—perhaps a soft coral pink, black, and some metallic gold for accents. Run the dies through your die-cutting machine with each color.
- Prepare the card front: Find a pretty, patterned paper that coordinates with your colors to use as the background. Then emboss the black purse piece with the “Petite Tuft” 3D Embossing Folder of the Month, to add realistic texture. This creates a beautiful, quilted-looking background that won’t overpower your detailed die-cut.
- Assemble your card: Attach the background piece to an A2 card panel. Then fasten the embossed panel to the card front. Carefully layer and glue the die-cut pieces together to build your bag. The different layers will create amazing depth and detail. It’s like paper piecing, but with dies! Using foam squares for extra dimension, add a die-cut pressed sentiment, such as “Thanks For Showing Up In Style,” to finish your elegant creation.

The “Hello Sweet Friend” Card – Nov 2025 Stencil Card
Last but not least, let’s play with the “Cherry Chic” Stencil of the Month. Stencils are a wonderfully easy way to create stunning, multi-colored backgrounds. For this card, we’ll use ink blending to produce a vibrant and friendly design.
How to make the “Hello Sweet Friend” card:
- Decide on your colors: When I get stuck while deciding what colors to use, I pull out my DIY color deck. What better reference than I piece of art with cherries on it? Instead of the usual orangy red, it has pastel pink and bright pink cherries in a pastel blue bowl on a pastel background: perfect colors for our card!
- Secure your stencil: Place the first layer of the “Cherry Chic” stencil over a panel of white cardstock. Use washi tape or a sticky mat to hold it firmly in place. The Stamp & Stencil tool works best for me.
- Blend your first color: Using a blending brush, apply your first ink color through the stencil. A soft lilac is lovely for every other stripe of the background.
- Layer the next stencil: Carefully remove the first stencil and align the second layer, which is the rest of the stripes, which we will blend in a cool pastel blue.
- Blend the third color: Apply a green ink for the stems, blending it gently to avoid having the ink go beyond the lines. Continue this process for any additional layers the stencil set includes.
- Create a platform: Use a fancy oval die to create a lovely platform for your focal point.
- Add a sentiment: Stamp or hot foil a simple sentiment like “Hello Sweet Friend” directly onto the die-cut oval.
- Die-cut the focal point elements: Use dies from the Large Die of the Month set to cut out two cherries, and their stems and leaves. Using the same ink colors, blend the die-cuts. Use a heavier hand at the top and around the edges of the cherries to add dimension to our pretty cherries. Similarly, blend more ink at the top of the stems and at one end of each of the leaves. Lastly, die-cut two bows from two different patterned papers that coordinate with your color scheme. Use a white gel pen to add highlights and a little more dimension to the cherries.
- Final assembly: Fasten an A2 piece of Fairy Tale cardstock to the front of an A2 card base with a tape runner. Trim the stenciled panel to 3 3/4″ x 5″ (or use a rectangle die) and attach it centered on top. Pop up the fancy oval platform with foam tape. And then put together the two cherries so that they are tied at the top with a bow. Use liquid glue behind the stems, leaves, and bow, but use foam squares behind each cherry. Wow! It’s really hard to choose which is the star of the show, the cherries or the vibrant, custom-made background!
