Four handmade greeting cards with wreath designs and holiday greetings, arranged on a wooden surface. Two cards say "Merry Christmas," and two feature autumn-themed wreaths. Cards created using Spellbinders Texture & Foliage Collection

Creating beautiful handmade cards becomes effortless when you have the right tools at your fingertips. The new Spellbinders Texture & Foliage Collection by Suzanne Hue offers everything you need to craft cards that capture the essence of each season with elegant texture and natural beauty.

This collection stands out for its versatility and attention to detail. Each piece works harmoniously with the others, allowing you to mix and match elements to create endless design possibilities. From the sophisticated Linen embossing folder that adds a woven fabric texture to your backgrounds, to the intricate Seasonal Wreath Foliage dies that create stunning focal points, every component has been thoughtfully designed to elevate your cardmaking projects.

The beauty of this collection lies in how it brings together two essential elements: texture and foliage. The textured backgrounds provide depth and visual interest, while the foliage elements add natural charm that works perfectly for autumn celebrations, Christmas greetings, or any occasion that calls for organic elegance.

Discover the Texture & Foliage Collection

Suzanne Hue’s latest collection brings together the best of both worlds with products that create stunning textured backgrounds and beautiful botanical elements. The collection features two distinctive 3D embossing folders—Linen and Dimpled—each offering unique texture patterns that serve as perfect backdrops for your designs.

The Linen 3D Embossing Folder creates a sophisticated woven texture that mimics the appearance of fine linen fabric. This 5.50 x 8.50-inch embossing folder works beautifully for cards ranging from standard A2 size to trendy slimline designs. The Dimpled embossing folder provides a different tactile experience with its subtle raised dots that add warmth and depth to any background.

Complementing these texture tools are the wreath die sets that bring natural beauty to your projects. The Seasonal Wreath Foliage Etched Dies include 13 thin metal cutting dies that create detailed wreaths in eucalyptus, greenery, and holly styles, complete with a “Merry Christmas” sentiment. The Autumn Greetings Wreath Etched Dies feature 13 dies that form a charming grapevine wreath with autumn accents and coordinating sentiments.

Four Inspiring Texture & Foliage Card Ideas

The Linen Pumpkins Wreath | Texture & Foliage Card #1

A handmade card with a woven yellow texture, a wreath of twigs, autumn vegetables, foliage accents, and the text "sending autumn cheer. Created using products from the Texture & Foliage Collection

This charming autumn card combines the elegant texture of the Linen embossing folder with seasonal pumpkin elements for a warm, welcoming design. The linen texture creates a sophisticated backdrop that makes the pumpkin wreath elements pop beautifully.

How To Make The Linen Pumpkins Wreath Card

I like to take advantage of the huge size that Spellbinders embossing folders are. So lets start by cutting your fawn cardstock to half a sheet (8.5 x 5.5 inches) and lightly misting it with water for the best embossing results. Run the cardstock through your Spellbinders machine using the Linen 3D Embossing Folder with Platform Base (A) on the bottom and Adapter Plate (D) on top.

While the embossed panel dries, die-cut your pumpkin wreath elements using coordinating autumn-colored cardstock.

Once the embossed panel has dried rub your Pumice stone ink bad directly over the top in both directions. This will help to draw your eye to the lovely embossed design. Next we’ll swipe ink pads in autumn colors across an A2 size (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) in each direction to create a dark plaid pattern. Alternatively you could you a piece of coordinating patterned paper. Fasten the panel to an A2 card base using a tape runner. Read How to Attach a Color Panel if you struggle to get your panel straight.

Trim the embossed cardstock into two 3 3/4″ x 5″ panels. Layer the wreath pieces on to one of the embossed panels to create depth, adhering each element with precision. Add dimensional foam tape behind key elements to create shadow and visual interest.

Complete the card by mounting the textured panel onto your card base and positioning the pumpkin wreath as your focal point. Add a letterpress sentiment that complements the autumn theme to finish this seasonal masterpiece.

The Dimpled Mistletoe Wreath | Texture & Foliage Card #2

A handmade card with rich texture, showcasing a green foliage wreath and red berries, featuring "Merry Christmas" in gold letters on a textured white background. Created using products from Spellbinders Textures & Folliage collection

Perfect for Christmas celebrations, this card showcases the subtle texture of the Dimpled embossing folder paired with delicate mistletoe wreath elements. The combination creates a card that feels both festive and sophisticated.

How To Make The Dimpled Mistletoe Wreath Card

Begin by preparing a brushed white cardstock half sheet and embossing it with the Dimpled 3D Embossing Folder. The dimpled texture with the brushed cardstock adds just the right amount of visual interest without overwhelming your design elements. Trim out two 3 3/4″ x 5″ panels. Attach an A2 size piece of brushed gold cardstock to a white A2 card base with a tape runner.

Create your mistletoe wreath using the Seasonal Wreath Foliage dies, cutting the greenery elements from green mirror cardstock. Layer these pieces to build a full, realistic-looking wreath. Add small red berries using small circle die from the set or pearl accents to complete the Christmas-y effect.

Position your completed wreath on the dimpled background panel, securing it with adhesive. Die-cut a the Christmas sentiment in elegant script from the die set to complete this timeless holiday card.

The Linen Leaves Wreath | Texture & Foliage Card #3

A handmade card featuring a wreath of autumn foliage and the words "grateful for you" on a yellow woven texture background. This card created with products from Spellbinders new Textures & Foliage Collection

Create your textured background using the remaining half of the panel that we made for the first card using Linen 3D Embossing Folder. But, for this one we’ll rub a gold metallic ink pad over the pumice stone to give your card a sophisticated, fabric-like appearance that elevates the entire design.

Brush that same gold ink pad randomly over fern and cranberry cardstock to create rich autumn colors. Die-cut your leaf wreath components using the Autumn Greetings Wreath dies. Cut multiple leaves in different colors to create a varied, natural-looking wreath.

Create a coordinating color panel by rubbing the gold ink pad along each edge of an A2 piece of cranberry cardstock to distress it. You want to start with the ink pad off the panel and pull it toward the center so that it “catches” on the edges. Once the ink is dry, attach the color panel to a white A2 card base with a tape runner. Trim the embossed panel to 3 3/4″ x 5″ and pop it up centered on the card base using foam strips.

Assemble your leaf wreath by layering different leaf shapes and colors, creating depth and movement. Secure each piece carefully, building up your wreath in a circular pattern. Add dimensional elements by curving some leaves slightly or layering them at different heights.

Use one of the sentiments that were left over from the first card to complete your card.

p.s.  I can’t wait for you to see your card, because the camera doesn’t capture just how beautiful it is with all the gold.

The Dimpled Holly Christmas | Texture & Foliage Card #4

A rectangular Christmas card with “Merry Christmas” written in gold script and an illustration of holly leaves and red berries on a textured background. This Christmas Card was created using elements from Spellbinders Texture & Folliage collection.

Celebrate the season with this classic Christmas card that pairs the subtle dimpled texture with traditional holly wreath elements. This design captures the timeless beauty of Christmas with sophisticated style.

How To Make The Dimpled Holly Christmas Card

Start with the remaining panel that we created using the Dimpled 3D Embossing Folder. Then, rub gold ink across it to create a spectacular background texture. The dimpled pattern adds visual interest while remaining subtle enough to let your holly wreath take center stage.

Use the Seasonal Wreath Foliage dies to create your focal point, cutting the holly leaves from deep green (fern) cardstock. You’ll also want to use a little scrap of cranberry cardstock to die-cut the holly berries. After you die cut them but before you remove them rub your gold ink pad lightly over the top. Pay attention to the natural curves and points of holly leaves as you position them in your greenery in the lower left corner of your card.

Rub your gold ink over a 1″ x 3″ piece of brushed white cardstock. To create a coordinating sentiment, die-cut both the “Merry Christmas” sentiment from it. Next, die-cut it’s shadow included in the die set from brushed white cardstock four times. Layer the shadows together using liquid glue and then fasten the sentiment on top. Lightly rub fired brick and rustic wilderness ink over the top of the sentiment to add a finishing touch.
