Avocado Kindness
This is a really fun card to make. To be honest I wasn’t thrilled with using an avocado for a focal point. But the technique that we will use really makes the card special.
To make it we’ll start off with a white A2 card base, and then we’ll trim the black layer and the kraft card panel using dies or a trimmer. The card panel is 3.5″ x 4.75′ and the layer is 3.625″ x 4.875″.
Now we’ll use a stamp positioner so that our stamp will stay in place. Then we’ll place our card panel in the tool. And, we’ll arrange the stamp right in the center of the card panel. And then we’ll pick the stamp up with the lid of the stamping tool.
Next, we’ll brush anti-static powder over the whole piece of cardstock. We do this to keep the heat embossing powder from sticking in places other than where we want it to.
We’ll be using three colors of heat embossing powder on the image of the avocado. And we’ll be using an embossing pen to paint the ink onto the stamps so that we can integrate the colors. So first we’ll paint the petals that will be white. Then we’ll sprinkle on the white embossing powder, and give it a tap. Then we melt it until the powder is melted, smooth, and shiny.
We follow the same process for the petal in the middle of the avocado, except we’re using clear embossing powder. And then for the stem, we’ll use platinum embossing powder.
Sentiment and Assembly
Once we’ve got the Avocado done, we will add the sentiments. We’ll keep the card panel in our stamping tool and begin by arranging where we want the “plant the seeds of” sentiment to be. Hint: it is helpful to use a transparency grid so that we can get the sentiments straight. We’ll use a watermark ink pad to ink up the stamp and clear embossing powder for this portion of the sentiment.
Next, we’ll use the same process to add kindness right below the first portion of the sentiment. And of course, we want to brush on our anti-static powder each time before we stamp our sentiments.
Assembly is quick and easy. We use an adhesive dot runner to attach the layer and the card panel and we’re done.

Snowflakes Heat Embossing Card How To
The background, the focal points, and the sentiments are heat embossed for this card. How fun is that?
To make it we begin with using a stencil to create the background. We’ll brush on some anti-static powder. And then we’ll tape one side of the stencil onto our work surface and then slide the blue A2 card panel in underneath. Next, using our watermark ink we’ll “stamp” the stencil. Hint: Apply the stamp and then lift it straight up and stamp again rather than swishing it back and forth over the stencil. We do this so that the images are crisp and the lines are defined well.
Then we sprinkle our glitter embossing powder over the ink and heat set it.
Next, we’ll use our die to cut out our “snowflakes. And we’ll add the watermark ink similarly to how we did with the stencil. Then we sprinkle on our embossing powder and heat it until it is smooth and melted. We repeat this three times for each snowflake so that they have some dimension. Hint: a craft tweezer is helpful in handling our delicate snowflakes.
Once the snowflakes are done we will decide how they will be arranged so that we can determine where the sentiment will go. Once we’ve done so we’ll stamp the sentiment directly onto the background using watermark ink. We’ll sprinkle it with white embossing powder and melt it.
The last thing to do is to attach the snowflakes with liquid glue and we’re done.

Layered Peony Heat Embossing How To
We use different colors of embossing powder with a layered stamp set to create this lovely card.
Using the same heat embossing techniques that are described above we’ll begin by stamping the base layer with purple ink. And then we’ll use clear embossing powder for the second layer. As a result, the clear embossing powder darkens the color that we stamp on.
We’ll use gold embossing powder for the third layer. Look how beautifully the gold pops out the floral image. And then we’ll use glitter embossing powder for the fourth layer.
We’ll use the coordinating die to cut out the flower. And, we’ll use mirror cardstock with a die because it will create a striking sentiment. We’ll use the same die with craft foam so that it will create some dimension for our sentiment. We add the foam die cut to the back of the one we cut from the mirror cardstock using liquid glue.
Hint: Because we’re overlapping we want to remove the portion of the foam that will lay over the square before attaching it to the cardstock sentiment.
To assemble the card we attach an A2-sized piece of sparkly purple cardstock to the A2 card base. Then we use a die or cut out a square from white cardstock. And then we’ll attach it to the card using a dot runner.
All that is left is the flower and the sentiment. We’ll use our dot runner to attach the flower, but we’ll use liquid glue for the sentiment.
Layering embossing powder produces a lovely effect, don’t you think?
