Using the Winter Rose Background BetterPress Plate, press the winter rose pattern onto a piece of porcelain cardstock. Use the coordinating layering stencil and a blending brush to apply ink over the pressed design as follows:

  • Layer 1 – Medium Orchid lightly overall with a heavier hand at the flower centers
  • Layer 2 – Dark Orchid primarily heavy-handed
  • Layer 3 – Sea Glass light handed with a little more pressure to add dimension
  • Layer 4 – Blue Lagoon fairly heavy hand, Add in Dark Orchid to the spiky leaves to create cobalt blue
  1. Prepare the Sentiment

Blend dark orchid on 2/3rds of an A2 panel of porcelain Betterpress cardstock.

Then, hot foil your “Happy Holidays” press plate sentiment onto the cardstock with teal foil to make it stand out. Once pressed, die-cut the sentiment to size with a Mirrored Arch die and layer it to another Mirrored Arch one size larger cut from Silver Brushed cardstock with liquid glue. and adhere it to the center of your card using foam tape for added dimension.

       4. Assemble the Card

Make a white A2 size card base. Fasten the pressed panel to the card base with a sheet of white liner. Read How to Attach a Color Panel for tips on how to get the panel aligned squarely and, adhere it to the center of your card using foam strips for added dimension.

  1. Design the Background

Press the winter rose pattern onto a piece of porcelain cotton cardstock using the Winter Rose Background press plate and black BetterPress ink. Apply a soft pink or lavender ink over the embossed design to enhance the floral details. Use a blending brush for even coverage.

Using the Winter Rose Background BetterPress Plate, press the winter rose pattern onto a piece of porcelain cardstock. Use the coordinating layering stencil and a blending brush to apply ink over the pressed design as follows:

  • Layer 1 – Candied Apple lightly overall with a heavier hand at the flower centers
  • Layer 2 – Lumberjack Plaid primarily heavy-handed
  • Layer 3 – Rustic Wilderness light handed with a little more pressure to add dimension
  • Layer 4 – Pine Needles fairly heavy hand, Add in Dark Orchid to the spiky leaves to create cobalt blue

Add glaze to the berries to give them some dimension.

  1. Prepare the Sentiment

Heat emboss the sentiment with gold embossing powder on fern cardstock. Mastering the Basics of heat embossing has tips on how to get the best results. Die-cut it with one of the smaller Emerald-cut dies.

       4. Assemble the Card

Make a white A2 size card base. Attach an A2 piece of fern cardstock to the card base. Trim or die-cut the pressed panel to 3 3/4″ x 5″ and fasten it to the card base with a sheet of white liner.
